All-Solid Sapele Construction

The MF516's all-solid sapele construction is a testament to its exceptional quality and craftsmanship. Sapele is a tonewood known for its balanced tonal characteristics, offering a warm low-end response, a clear and present midrange, and a smooth, articulate top end. This makes the MF516 an incredibly versatile instrument, capable of handling everything from delicate fingerstyle passages to powerful strumming.

OM Body Style for Comfort and Versatility

The MF516's OM (Orchestra Model) body style is a classic choice for players who value comfort and versatility. The OM's smaller size makes it comfortable to hold and play for extended periods, while its balanced tone and projection make it suitable for a wide range of musical styles and playing techniques. Whether you're a fingerstyle player, a flatpicker or a singer-songwriter, the MF516's OM body style will inspire you to create your best music.

Forward-Shifted Scalloped Bracing

The MF516 features Alvarez's innovative forward-shifted scalloped bracing system, which enhances the guitar's overall resonance and responsiveness. This bracing pattern allows the top to vibrate more freely, resulting in a louder and more dynamic sound with improved sustain. The forward-shifted design also contributes to the guitar's balanced tonal response and projection.

Premium Components and Flawless Finish

The MF516 is adorned with premium components that enhance its performance and aesthetics. The rosewood fingerboard and bi-level bridge provide a smooth and comfortable playing surface, while the bone nut and saddle contribute to the guitar's exceptional tone and sustain. The tortoiseshell binding adds a touch of elegance, and the natural finish showcases the beauty of the sapele wood. The MF516 is a guitar that is as visually stunning as it is sonically pleasing.

  • Minor finish issues but amazing guitar

A little extra epoxy where fretboard and top of guitar meet. Finish is a beautiful glossy color and tortoise binding looks excellent. Minor fret buzz when it arrived, but 1/4 turn or less of the truss rod solved this. Very resonant guitar, it "sings" vs cheaper guitars. Body shape and neck are both comfortable. If you want a solid wood smallish guitar that's still a full size guitar this is hard to beat unless you need a pickup. The cost to put one in still puts this under its other solid wood competition.

I own several expensive, big-name guitars, but for some time I've wanted to purchase a more modestly-priced Alvarez guitar for sentimental reasons, as my first quality guitar was an Alvarez. I played this guitar in the store and immediately knew this was the one. The tone, punch, solid wood construction, quality of the build, bone nut and saddle all evidence that this is a much better guitar than its price would suggest. Additionally, I prefer sapele over mahogany as a tonewood, because it has the mid-range focus with slightly more treble, lower end, and clarity. Honestly, I love playing this guitar, and, because of the solid wood construction, it will continue to sound better over the years.

Came in interested in a new acoustic guitar. Tried some taylors and martins while this guitar was hanging up high and it was whispering to me definetly caught my eye. So finally i asked asales person for some help getting it down. Its was better balanced weight then the taylor guitars not to mention its all solid. The setup out the box was perfect 2mm at the 17th fret. It was super resonant you can feel the top and back vibrating with a great rounded mid tones wfrom bass notes to a bright shimmer. every detail was perfect the bracing work on the inside is one of a guitar 3x 4x the price. Bone nut and Bone saddle. The only inperfection was two frets on the trebble side are a tiny bit sharp,

Tonally superior to any of the entry level (Regent and Artist series) guitars that I own. Even non-guitar people in my family can hear the difference. My first solid wood guitar but definitely won't be my last. Would certainly buy again.
