Fretboard logic is the key that will unlock the guitar for you. The key concept is that the fretboard is a unique interface to the guitar, and with the CAGED system, Bill Edwards organically opens up the world of chords, scales and lead patterns in the clearest, concisest, most applicable system you will ever find find. It is written by a guitarist, about guitars, for guitar players. It really is "the owners manual that should have come with your guitar." The presentation is very logical (as the title hopefully suggests) and it provides you with building blocks of skill and the conceptual understanding to back it all up. Bill Edwards is a precise kind of guy - and in this book every word counts. Read carefully, read more than once. There is a universe of music hidden in these books. I have Vols. I and II and look fwd to III. I found video 1.2 to be very helpful. SOmetimes a picture is worth many many words, and video is even better. There is a wide variety of styles on the video, and you may not personally care for that particular genre, but the lesson it contains will still enlighten you, even if you don't see yourself playing metal or soft rock or whatever. But you need the books first and foremost. My playing and understanding have improved as a result of studying this material. Yours will too, all you need to do is practice. You will amaze yourself.
