Behringer

Description

The Behringer HM300 Heavy Metal distortion pedal unleashes the roaring high-gain distortion that was once only possible by cranking amps to their breaking point. Now, guitarists can summon that brutal metal tone at any volume with the HM300. Its ultra-high gain circuitry delivers rude, rowdy distortion perfect for fierce rhythm chops and searing leads. With dedicated Distortion, Low, High and Level controls, you can meticulously shape your signature heavy metal tone, from deep and brooding to crisp and furious. A status LED lets you know when this beast is activated, while a top-quality on/off switch maintains incredible signal integrity in bypass mode.

Dial In Your Ideal Gain With Dedicated Tone Controls

The dedicated distortion, low, high and level controls give you deep tone-shaping capabilities to find your perfect high-gain sound. Crank up the Distortion knob to increase the amount of gain and take your playing into face-melting territory. Cut or boost low end with the Low control, helping to tighten up the bottom end or give thunderous low-mids more punch. Similarly, the High knob shapes the crisp treble bite. Finally, use the Level control to match the distorted output volume with the clean signal.

Summon Endless Sustain for Singing Leads

The HM300's ultra-high gain distortion circuit sustains notes for days, allowing you to pull off soulful, singing leads that singe the air. Those long, wailing bends will ring out as you lean into each note, while complex chords bloom with singing overtones. The HM300 gives your playing infinite sustain for emotive leads.

Maintain Signal Integrity in Bypass Mode

A high-quality footswitch toggles the HM300 between effect and bypass modes, ensuring your tone remains intact when disengaged. Stomp on the switch to unleash the beast within or click it off to return to a clean signal—without any loss of clarity or dynamics.

Soooo... Behringer Heavy Metal HM300 Pedal. Very interesting use of $25. The packaging describes the tone as being "Thick." Thick is a way of putting it. Muddy is a better way of putting it. Next to no hair or grit in this thing. If there were such thing as smooth, heavy distortion, this would be its maker. Yeah, it's got lots of gain. It has a Low and Mid knob, but no High knob, because "High" just isn't coming out the other end of this thing. It is supposed to mimic the Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal. Yeah, I can see that, to a degree... The Swedish Death Metal sound is low, deep, heavy, and brutal. This can do low, deep, and heavy. I think it actually sounds better with all except the Volume knob to 11, but with the guitar on the neck pickup and mellowed WAY out. It's almost dark bluesy like that. Like I said.. interesting. Oh, black matte spraypaint is happening. Not having THIS color draw attention to itself on my board.

I'm a beginner so I don't know a thing about guitar or guitar pedals I ordered this and don't know what to connect with what do other than a guitar and an amp what do I need to go along with this pedal

You will need two 1/4 inch instrument cables. Guitar plugs into the pedal that will plug into the amp.
