I will be using my two ECM8000 mics with Smaart RTA software for tuning systems as needed, or for some lite ambience mics when recording conferences. I downloaded the Text files and configured them for Smaart for mic correction curves, then tested them against two other RTA mics I have including a Earthworks M30. I was very surprised how well the traced right along. I will use the 8000 for conference mics low SPL level stuff and when required High SPL, I would tune with my Earthworks. I would by these again! Thanks Mike

What's to add, at the workhorse of the industry. Great performance versus price. Everyone should have at least two in their studio or gear.
Great as a Measurement/scientific mic.

Better than average. The mic was used with the Room EQ wizard in a studio setup. Worked great and for a very reasonable price.
Everyone uses it

Works like it's supposed to! Don't have a super expensive one to compare it to and don't plan on it!

I work at a University and used this mic to tune 2 dance studios that were in large open ceiling spaces. The frequency response seemed dead on up to about 4k where I didn't quite trust the lower spl level I was reading. That said, with the help of this mic I was able to make two very reflective spaces sound great with a lower grade set of of speakers. This mic was recommended to me by a friend who has been using it for years to tune line arrays. This will be in my arsenal for years to come.
Great with Room Eq Wizard

I am acoustically treating my project studio and I bought the ECM8000 to use with Room EQ Wizard as the tools to "shoot the room" and evaluate where the problem frequencies are. I haven't used the ECM8000 for musical purposes yet, but it has worked like a champ as I have done my room analyses. Very easy to use as their are no moving parts - plug in and go! It comes in a hard plastic case with foam padding and a clip to attach it to a mic stand.
