Description

The Behringer CRAVE packs true analog synthesis into a versatile desktop module. With its pure analog signal path, authentic 3340 VCO and extremely flexible VCF and VCA filters, the CRAVE lets you conjure up virtually any sound with finesse. The semi-modular architecture, intuitive patch matrix and generous array of knobs provide extensive tone-shaping control. Whether you're looking to recreate classic sounds or design modern tones from the ground up, the CRAVE puts vintage analog vibe within reach.

Sculpt Sounds With the Legendary 3340 VCO

At the heart of the CRAVE's all-analog sound engine lies the 3340 voltage-controlled oscillator. It lets you switch between pulse and reverse-sawtooth waves for everything from punchy bass to soaring leads. Sculpt the pulse width or sweep the tuning across a ±1 octave range to dramatically shift the timbre. Blend in noise for a grittier edge. The dedicated LFO and envelope generator open up even more modulation options.

Shape Your Sound With the 24dB Ladder Filter

The CRAVE's VCF ladder filter pays homage to classic Moog designs for warm, rich tone shaping. Toggle between low-pass and high-pass modes to focus the frequencies. Dial in the cutoff and resonance controls to find the sweet spot. Let the modulation section sweep the filter for animated effects. Between the VCO and VCF, you have the tools to craft sounds limited only by your imagination.

Perform and Sequence With Onboard Controls

Bring your sounds to life with the 32-step sequencer. Program note patterns up to 32 steps long and chain up to 64 sequences together to build complete songs. The built-in arpeggiator triggers sequenced patterns of notes by playing single keys. Between the tactile sequencer buttons and arpeggiator, the CRAVE makes an addictively hands-on melodic sketchpad.

Expand Your Options With Poly Chaining and Semi-Modular Design

While monophonic on its own, you can poly chain multiple CRAVE units for up to 16-voice polyphony. The intuitive patch matrix makes it easy to route signals and integrate analog gear. Whether you're chaining CRAVEs or incorporating external synths and FX, the possibilities are exponentially expanded.

This is a great product and makes some incredible sounds. The learning curve for the sequencer was a bit steep but some videos on youtube helped rectify that. Great product! Bravo Behringer and bravo guitar center for the price and quick/painless delivery!

Nice for getting similar sounds to those found on some older analog synth recordings. Monophonic when not used with other units. Default patch when no patch cords used is quite useable.
