Behringer

Description

Bring expansive stereo sound into your home studio with this matched pair of Behringer C-2 small-diaphragm condenser microphones. With its low-mass diaphragm and ultra-low-noise transformerless FET circuitry, the Behringer C-2 delivers pristine audio at an absolutely unbeatable price. Matching professional-grade engineering with premium features like a gold-plated XLR output and switchable low-frequency roll-off and input attenuation, the C-2 is a bargain buy with endless applications for both the studio and live settings.

This matched pair was carefully selected for uniform performance and nearly identical sound capture, making them perfectly suited to producing a balanced stereo image. Work with them in tandem to capture acoustic guitars, string quartets and choirs in beautiful stereo, or employ them separately to focus in on sources like hi-hat or snare. However you choose to work with your C-2s, they’re sure to impress with their amazing versatility and true-to-life sound.

Low-Mass Diaphragm for a Nuanced and Natural Sound

The Behringer C-2 features an ultra-responsive low-mass diaphragm that brilliantly captures the quick transients of stringed instruments, percussion and so much more. Boasting an extended frequency range of 20Hz–20kHz, the C-2 reproduces the complete spectrum of sound with impressive accuracy. You'll hear intricate harmonic details, realistic dynamics and an overall natural sound quality. And with its smooth cardioid pickup pattern, the C-2 effectively rejects sounds from the side and rear, capturing your source with clarity and focus. This intelligent unidirectional design minimizes feedback issues and room ambience, making the C-2 ideal for drum overheads, loud instruments and live applications.

Transformerless Output for Impressive Clarity

Intelligently engineered with transformerless FET circuitry, the Behringer C-2 delivers ultra-low-noise performance over a wide dynamic range. This compact small-diaphragm condenser’s advanced FET (field-effect transistor) technology eliminates low-frequency distortion while providing a clean, clear signal chain. It also minimizes self-noise and delivers exceptional transient response for a focused and precise audio image—even at the highest sound pressure levels. The C-2's gold-plated XLR connector further ensures audio clarity, providing a reliable, loss-free connection with optimal signal integrity. Whether you're recording delicate strings, intricate vocal harmonies, or high-volume, high-intensity drums, the C-2 condenser delivers pristine sound quality you can count on in all situations.

Dial In Your Sound With the Flip of a Switch

While the C-2 may be built with budget-conscious consumers in mind, it doesn’t skimp when it comes to intelligent integrated features. This versatile pencil condenser offers two built-in switches for even further control over your sound—low-frequency roll-off and 10dB input attenuation. The low-frequency roll-off eliminates infrasonics and is ideal for reducing unwanted low-end rumble in close-miked recording scenarios. When working with high-volume sources like cranked amps or in-your-face vocals, switching on the attenuator pad raises the C-2's max SPL to an impressive 150dB, giving you the extra headroom you need to capture clear, undistorted audio. Together, these features offer maximum flexibility on stage and in the studio, allowing you to tame loud signals and difficult frequencies with ease.

High-Quality Construction and Premium Accessories

Built for the road and the rigors of the studio, the small but mighty Behringer C-2 is a rugged microphone you can rely upon for years to come. Boasting high-quality components and a durable die-cast metal chassis, the C-2 is nearly indestructible—especially when paired with the included carrying case. Your matched pair of C-2s also comes with stand adapters, windscreens, and a stereo bar—everything you need to get the most out of your mics. The entire collection fits snugly in the sturdy foam-lined case, making for the perfect portable mic setup, whether you’re on tour, in the home studio, or taking your recording rig on the go.

The hype is true- these things sound great! I'd been using a large diaphragm condenser on my all mahogany concert acoustic and it just didn't capture it quite right. So I thought I'd buy a small diaphragm condenser, and I bought these guys. I've been burned by Behringer before, like many of us likely have been. But these really do deliver! Do yourself a favor and buy them- you can't get a killer pair of SDCs for this kinda money anywhere else!

They are great mics for the price. I have used them to mic choirs. Great sounding mics. Not as clean as the really high priced ones. But for the price I have got my moneys worth. I can't comment about how long they will last. But a decent mic for a good price.

I bought these mics weeks ago and when I plugged them in there was an helicopter sound in the background. I talked with customer service and send them back for a replace. Now I just got the replacement with exactly the same problem. My other three condenser mics work perfect. So make your own opinion.

I have these and a pair of matched condensers by another manufacturer (also sold by GC) in the same price range with similar features, and these Behringers are much, much better. Sound, sensitivity, feedback rejection, everything (just check out the spec sheets). They're also much more solidly built. If you're looking for a great value in condenser overhead or acoustic instrument mics look no farther.

  • Great gen.purp. mics, especially for the price!

I got 8 of these for micing small to medium orchestras (15 to 75 performers), mostly in outdoor venues like gazebos. Also use them for some more conventional uses like ambient recordings, crown mics for earbud injection, drum overheads, acoustic instruments (mostly stringed). They perform just fine for these tasks. I've used Octavas in the past and, of course, was very pleased with them. However, they cost so much now that they're not price competitive for my small market. The Behringers fit perfectly. Highly recommended. They were actually recommended to me by a buddy who has 16 Octavas and would rent 8 of them to me for the one month season I need them for about the same amount these cost. Can't beat that!
