Behringer

Description

The Behringer B-1 large diaphragm condenser mic brings crisp, detailed sound to your recordings at a price that fits your budget. With a wide 20Hz–20kHz frequency response and cardioid polar pattern, this versatile mic rejects feedback for clear sound in both studio sessions and live performances. Despite its affordable price point, the B-1 condenser mic is built from quality components to capture sound with incredible sensitivity. For home recordists and project studios, the Behringer B-1 provides the realism of a high-end condenser mic without breaking the bank.

Cardioid Pattern Rejects Feedback With Outstanding Separation

The B-1 large diaphragm condenser microphone features a cardioid polar pattern ideal for a wide variety of studio and live sound applications. With excellent off-axis sound rejection, the cardioid pattern minimizes feedback while providing outstanding source separation. Capture vocals, acoustic guitar, percussion and more with clarity and detail. The B-1's directional cardioid pattern also reduces room ambience for a tighter sound quality so your tracks sound crisp and focused.

Pad and Low-Cut Filter Give You Sound Control

Tailor your sound with the B-1's switchable -10dB pad and 75Hz low-cut filter. Turn on the -10dB pad when recording loud sound sources like drums, amps or voices right on the mic. The pad prevents overload while maintaining low noise. Activate the low-cut filter to remove rumble and other unwanted low frequencies from your recordings. With the pad and filter, you can shape the B-1's full-bodied sound to suit any audio source.

Quality Components Bring Out Natural Sound

Despite its budget-friendly price, the Behringer B-1 large diaphragm condenser mic is equipped with premium components to capture sound with lifelike accuracy. The 1" diaphragm and wide 20Hz–20kHz frequency response reproduce audio with exceptional transparency. Even at high SPLs up to 148dB, the B-1 maintains its crystal-clear sound. For home recordists and project studios, the Behringer B-1 provides the sensitive sound-capturing abilities of a high-end condenser mic on a budget.

Tried this mic for my female vocals but yuck! Think it does better on male vocals, acoustic guitar, and guitar amps. I bought it due to a recommendation and it's a great starting/amateur mic. However, if you have the money up front- go for something like the Rode NT1 which does amazing on vocals!

I would have given the Behringer B-1 5 stars, but the basket adjustment knob does not hold it tight at the angle you want. For my voice, though, it was an excellent match and unless I go into real high dollar range, I think any differences are going to be miniscule and not worth the extra bucks.

  • Great for recording music or podcasting

I bought the Behringer B-1 in 2005 and it has a great sound. I'm impressed by the accessories that come with this Mic (Pop Filter, Shock Mount, and case) and the switches available on the Mic itself. It is important with all large Condensers that they be set up right in terms of input volume (VU Meter or LEDs) because they can distort easily on close up Vocals. I have used the B-1 on Electric guitar cabinets with great success, it is a fantastic Condenser Mic with good Quality Control more sensitive than my MXL. This Mic has a presence boost in the top frequencies which tends to enhance Vocals and other high frequency instruments. I am planning to buy several more of these for future recording. Probably the best professional Condenser Mic for the Price on the market. Well built, including the Accessories.

  • What can I say? Great product for the price.

I have no complaints about this mic. I use it for podcasting together with a Behringer Xenyx mixer and they're just the perfect pair for a small-time podcast. I can't get too technical about it, but I can tell you that I get that big, booming kind of radio voice when I use this mic. I haven't had any problems with the mic at all, but you have to keep your expectations low when you're not buying top-grade equipment.
