collapse expand iconDescription

The groundbreaking WAZA Tube Amp Expander from BOSS transforms your cherished tube guitar amplifier into the ultimate tone machine for both stage and studio. This revolutionary device combines a variable reactive load box, active analog power stage, mic'd cab emulator, IR loader and multi-output interface in one road-ready unit.

Retain Your Amp's True Character at Any Volume

The WAZA Tube Amp Expander's reactive load box gives you the ability to crank your tube amp to its tonal sweet spot while controlling overall volume to suit the situation. Select from 16 different impedance settings to precisely match your amp's output transformer, allowing its true sound and dynamic feel to shine through. Any tube guitar amp up to 150W is supported.

Built-In Effects and EQ Sculpt Your Tone

Shape your core amp tone with the WAZA Tube Amp Expander's onboard compressor, delay and reverb effects, all fully customizable using the dedicated editor software. Four different EQs—including a switchable solo boost—are on hand for strategic tone shaping at multiple points in the signal path. An external effects loop provides support for both line-level devices and standard stompboxes in series or parallel.

Powerful Control On Stage and In the Studio

Store 10 different rig setups in the WAZA Tube Amp Expander with recall via the front panel or optional GA-FC foot controller. Each rig includes custom effects and EQ, cab/IR selections, MIDI control and more. The GA-FC also provides real-time access to delay, tap tempo, solo/EQ and amp channel switching. Stereo line outputs with cab emulation or IRs feed PAs, monitors and recording devices, while parallel speaker outputs drive up to two cabs from the built-in 100-watt power stage.

Connect to Everything Simultaneously

The WAZA Tube Amp Expander's extensive I/O matrix supports multiple destinations at once. Drive stage cabs and boost low-wattage amps with the speaker outputs and integrated power stage. Feed the main PA, monitors, recording interfaces and headphones with line, USB and phones outs. Select from 22 cabs with five mic types each for the line outs or load your favorite IRs into four user slots. Deep software-based editing provides a world of customization for total command of your tone in any creative scenario.

I could never crank my amp to hit its sweet spot at home, due to my house being in a close knit neighborhood. Now I can, and it has so many more features than my 2 notes captor. The price is high, but saves me from complaining neighbors and future visits from the police !! (LOL)

  • Ehhh... Not for a "tube snob" but still not a bad product

Unit itself: After watching all the YouTube videos and reading forum sites I was convinced for a bit that I was just doing something wrong. It seem to add some gain to every amp I had. The only way it sounded close to was to turn the volume of the amp itself down. The reactive load section didn't help at all and it wasn't real clear on exactly I was changing when switching them. The "suggested" settings in the manual did nothing for me. The only way I was able to get a sound even close to what I had without it was to crank the unit which defeated the purpose... For low volume playing at home I could have just turned the amp itself down and used an OD to get the drive... Other guitar player in my band mentioned the Bugera PS1 sounded better! This unit basically made my amps digital. If you're a fan of digital products you will be fine. If not, I'd look elsewhere. Effects/Rigs/Software: I like the effects that was in the unit and giving some tweaking I could see using them. If I could have gotten the tone worked out I could have easily set up rigs with just those effects and done away with half of my board.... Rigs work just fine, you save presets that are switchable with the unit for the controller. Some people complain but that lack of "on the fly" edits and that they can only be made within the software, it never bothered me. The software itself worked fine for me but I could see where someone with more experience using software to control music equipment might have an issue with it. At the time of this writing it can't be used with a updated iMac. Loading IR's takes forever so I used software instead. If there was no other option on the market it would be great, there's tons though, and Youtube isn't the best way to judge a product. Glad I tried it so at least I know but I'm very grateful for Guitar Center's 45 day return policy!

Bought this to give additional features to my vintage tube amps. Wow the Waza really brought them to life with attenuation, an FX loop and really good on board effects.
