Description

With the WL-50, it’s never been easier to bring wireless freedom to your pedalboard. Driven by new BOSS technology, the WL-50 delivers premium sound and a plug-and-play experience that eliminates all the hassles normally associated with wireless systems. The stompbox-sized receiver fits right alongside your other pedals, and includes a docking port for charging the transmitter and automatically setting the best wireless connection. There’s even a handy DC output, allowing you to distribute power to multiple pedals on your board.

Once you experience the wireless independence provided by the WL-50, you’ll never go back to using a standard cable again. Setup is quick and simple, and you’re able to move about freely while playing at home, jamming with friends and performing on stage. During sound check at a gig, you can listen to your tone out front and dial in the best sound for your audience. And with the ability to roam and interact with other musicians, your live shows will be more dynamic and entertaining than ever.

      Works fine but wish it had better way of telling if it's charging or charged. Had to re-wire my power tele to work with it. The Boss website had info to correct it. (had to switch active pickup/preamp and battery grounds).

      I went with this model as it appeared to work on both electric and acoustic guitars and was not disappointed. Teles., strats., Martin, Gibson electrics and acoustics all worked flawlessly. Signal transmission we're equal to cable, at least to the ear. Only issue is that transmitter can die without warning if not kept charged and demands attention to avoid this. I haven't kept close check on how long the charge holds but elect to recharge after pretty much every use to avoid abrupt cut off of the signal. This is not a critical issue for me but it may be important to some.

      I'm really bummed. I wanted to like this. About 10 days after getting it, it started having short problems in the transmitter. Guitar Center wasn't helpful, even 10 days after. Said I can't return it online because I didn't purchase extra warranty. Said I could find a local store and they might return it without the box.

      The device is easy to setup and get started. But the sound is very muffled. Reception with line of sight was ok to a point. The device also picked up Computer noises.

      I'm trying to figure out if the WL-50 is the right setup (vs. the WL-20, or the WL-20L). I have an electric guitar (passive pickups) and an acoustic/electric guitar (active pickups). As I understand it, the WL-20 is more specifically for passive, while the WL-20L is more specifically for active (although I think the WL-20L makes mention that it can be used, perhaps not optimally, for both). Q1: Maybe the solution is this WL-50 (as it states that it can confidently be used for both)? Q2: Could I connect the receiver to my amp head (line in) rather than connecting it to a pedalboard? Or, should I stick with using either the WL-20, or the WL-20L? Thank you.

      As far as I know active pickups work the same as any other pickups with a wireless system. This should work just fine.
