Great Tuner

I read the other guys review (flaky, poor design) before I tried it out. Nothing he said is accurate. I used it outside in my garage with the door open by the street, and it still worked great. it picked up each string with precision. It was easy to read with a good display. it stayed on my headstock just fine. Ive used a lot of different types of tuners, and this one is pretty good compared to a lot of others. I haven't used any other clip ons though, so I can't honestly compare it to a cheaper version. but I'm completely happy with this one, and I'm extremely picky.

Flaky, Poorly-designed

Save your cash, folks. physically, this thing is loose/wobbly on all my guitars: Strats, SG, Les Paul, and acoustics. Every time you look at the guitar's headstock, after a few minutes, the thing has moved. There's zero flexibility as far as "aiming" the actual meter, so you never get a straight-on view of the meter. No big deal, really, but indicative of a very poorly thought-out piece of gear. And the actual tuning process is ridiculous. The thing never wants to stabilize, at all. It flutters between flat & sharp, forever, and seems to randomly generate a graphic that is supposedly designed to show that the string is in tune, when, in fact, the needle is still prone to dancing around the in-tune, center of the meter. I can tune up, by ear, much faster, and more accurately. We all like tuners. So, buy the Snark, instead. It looks a bit goofy, but guess what, it works, and it's a third the price of the TU-10.

Over the years I've accumulated an embarrassing pile of tuners of various types and when my Snark go-to began to get dodgy I began the quest for yet another tuner. My initial purchase (based on a recommendation from a Berklee instructor) was the TC Electronic Polytune clip. That purchase quickly became an exercise in frustration as the buttons are all but impossible to find in a performance situation and the polytune function isn't accurate. I had initially dismissed the TU-10 because the display doesn't swivel but I decided to give it a try. Quite simply, it's a great tuner. It's easy to position and see, despite the lack of a tilt or swivel head, it's easy to turn on and off and it's quick and accurate. Even better, one has the option of always on or auto shut-off modes.
