Description

The BOSS Pocket GT is a revolutionary amp and effects processor that puts a world of inspiring sounds and tools right in your pocket. Connect the Pocket GT wirelessly to your phone or tablet and the free BOSS Tone Studio app lets you play along to YouTube lessons and backing tracks with over 100 premium amps and effects at your fingertips. Whether you're a beginner honing your skills or a pro looking to experiment with new sounds on the go, the Pocket GT is your pocket-sized gateway to premium tone.

Stream and Jam Along Wirelessly

The Pocket GT hardware provides the premium sound engine and audio connections while the BOSS Tone Studio app incorporates a streaming YouTube browser on your connected smart device. Create song lists for quick recall, loop sections to nail difficult passages and control playback—all on the same screen. Use the Center Cancel switch to reduce the volume of vocals and guitar solos so you can focus on your playing and feel like part of the band.

99 Onboard Amps and Effects with Customization

The Pocket GT comes loaded with 99 ready-to-play user memories but you can customize them or craft your own from scratch. Scroll through memories with a dedicated knob and tweak amp gain and effects levels with the touch of a button. The Pocket GT uses the same sound engine as the GT-1 floor processor so you can exchange amp and effects setups between the two devices.

Functions as USB Audio Interface for Recording

The Pocket GT doubles as a USB audio interface so you can record mix-ready guitar tracks directly into your Mac or Windows DAW. For fresh sonic inspiration, you'll find a wide selection of free patches to download at BOSS Tone Central.

Free App Updates and Sounds

BOSS is dedicated to continuously improving the Pocket GT experience. Free Tone Studio app updates provide enhanced features and functionality while free patches from BOSS Tone Central put new amps, effects and tools at your fingertips.

I would buy this product again and again and again.

This product is outstanding! It does exactly what it says it does. Great sounds in a small compact package. This is the product I have been waiting for. I needed something portable with ease of use. But, the sound has to be there and boy does this little puppy sound great. To some of the other reviews on here that are saying it's missing features I'll try and answer. 1. There is an app for it. At least on IOS. I've been using the app since I got it when this product first launched. App works awesome. Simple search on the interwebs and YouTube showcases it. 2. The review saying you can't plug into amp is wrong in a way. The person playing in the review you mention was connected to their DAW on their computer and playing thru studio monitors. Hope that helps. This was not designed for live play. I don't think it ever was. It's a practice tool and the best portable one I've ever used. The only better practice tool out there is the Spark but it ain't portable. I've been playing for 10 years and have tried and used everything. I've finally have exactly what I have been looking for with the Boss Pocket GT and the Spark. For live play I would use a actual amp or some of the other amazing products designed to do that like the new Boss core, Helix stomp etc. etc. Try it out for awhile and put it thru it's paces. Guitar Center has a very good return policy but I don't think you'll return it. I'm not.

Buyer Beware

You can't play thru your amp. Only one cable/connector provided. Only plays thru computer (3 ring) headset. Before I purchased I watched a YouTube video and the guy was playing out loud/not thru a headset so I assumed it was thru an amp. If you aren't sure, don't buy online. Go to your local music store and talk to someone who can advise you because MF does not provide those details. Additionally the owners manual does not show how to connect to an amp.

The sound is fantastic! I bought it to use it as a traveling practice amp/effects module, but it is so much more! It is unlike anything I've ever used. I especially enjoy trying new combinations and orders of effects. Chains are easy to build and switch between.

There are some very good clean presets. It was much better than I expected for the price. I think I will Velcro it to a strap for the guitar I grab when I I have a few minutes break from work :-) I haven't tried the YouTube integrating but I can see where that would be great to solo to a backing track.

I bought this so I could practice in the go or quietly at home. I'm familiar with BOSS Stuff and have owned many of their products in the past. This thing is stupid easy to use and sounds good.

I keep this and a guitar in the living room. Practice when the kids go to sleep and my wife watches her shows. No longer get yelled at for being in the basement all the time! Not crazy for the presets but got very good custom patches quickly with app. Sounded good in Studio One.

I play mainly bass, it works well for a bass, as it does for a guitar also.

I'm a professional guitar tech touring with a well known country artist. The band's lead guitarist introduced me to this device as he uses his on the bus constantly. At home in Nashville, I play with a 90's cover band and because I'm on the road so much, needed a portable practice solution and this thing totally does what I needed. I'm easily able to Bluetooth my iPhone X, put on headphones, plug in a guitar and and play along to tunes on Apple Music, YouTube or any audio being output from my phone. That said, I've read a bunch of reviews complaining about the transport buttons and one review that said it worked great with an iPad but not on the iPhone. First off, if you Bluetooth the unit to your iPad, to use it with the iPhone you MUST first tell the iPad to disconnect before it will work on your phone… even if the iPhone says it's connected. As for the transport controls, everything works perfectly with Apple Music. Not so much with YouTube. Full rewind or jumping to the next song works but rewind and fast forward (in my case) don't. Personally, that doesn't bother me because I can just do that on the phone or iPad screen. I also had no problems downloading the additional patches as shown on the Sweetwater video. Everything worked exactly as shown. As for the tones, I'm not really sure why anyone is complaining. It sounds great and if you really want to get into it, there are a ton of user accessible tweak options, especially using app. I have no desire to use this for live performance but as a killer device to learn and practice songs, I absolutely love this thing!
