Audio-Technica

collapse expand iconDescription

The rugged broadcast Audio-Technica BPHS1 stereo headset has closed-back around-the-ear cups and a professional boom-mounted microphone wearable on either side.

Audio-Technica designed the BPHS1 for news and sports broadcasting, announcing, and interviews. The headset microphone's cardioid polar pattern is tailored for speech pickup with maximum voice intelligibility over a wide range of frequencies. It is more sensitive to sound originating directly in front of the element, making it useful in reducing pickup of unwanted ambient sounds. The mic's flexible gooseneck boom swivels for easy positioning on either the right or left.

The AT BPHS1 headset's dual earphones offer an extended frequency response of 20-20,000 Hz and smooth, natural sound reproduction. Generously padded circumaural ear cups provide acoustic isolation and long-wearing comfort.

This arrived on time and in perfect condition. I drive long distances quite frequently and use this for phone calls and for practicing singing into my digital recorder; I had to change the connectors to match my cell phone and the recorder, but it works perfectly. The mic has great sensitivity and directionality and the over-the-ear headphones block out the road noise excellently.

  • Great product, works amazing excited to use it!

I used it only once but its jack is not working properly. Sometimes there is sound and sometimes there is not. When I grasp the jack connecting to the headphone it works well but when I leave it, the sound stops. I don't recommend this headset.

Bought one of these for my mobile rig. The headphones are clean and clear, the mic is crisp and loud. and they are nice and sturdy built. After trying some cheaper headsets I finally bought these and they are worthy every penny. Like it even better than the Shure SM2. Only complaint would be that my ears get really warm after using them for about an hour, but I get that with any isolating headphones. I'll definitely be getting a second set to round out my mobile setup.

What type of jack is at the end of the cable. I can't believe this web page doesn't have a picture of it or specify it anywhere.

Is it 1/4", 3.5mm, USB???

How good is the accuracy of the audio reproduction with the headphones? I love Audio-Technica's ATH series as on-ear monitors for DJing and audio production, and adding a microphone would make this probably the most useful piece of gear I would own, provided that the headphones are at least to the level of the ATH series.

I am looking for an over the ear boom mic. I'm talking about a mic that doesn't come to the front of one's face. The boom should be no longer than 2 to 3 inches. This isn't a Bluetooth mic for my phone. I'm talking about a microphone and just a microphone. Thanks.
