I am an experience acoustic instrument player in my 70's. I purchased this clip-on mic to use in performances with a band. I attached the mic to the struts that hold the resonator to the back of the banjo and placed the mic itself at an opening of the resonator. It produced good sound and I would use it again for that purpose, but only if I had to play several songs in a set with the banjo. It isn't easy to change from an acoustic guitar to the banjo with this mic attached. The cord to the mic is very thin while the attachment to the amp (or connecting cord) is quite heavy. Difficult to make the change easily. Otherwise, as advertised.

Universal clip. Works great as cheap aftermarket replacement for our broken shure clip.

Works and performs as expected. Rubber grips at tip-ends would make this exceptional!

I bought one of these 15 years ago for my upright bass. I lost it in a move a few years ago, and when I started gigging again, I knew the best option was to get another one! For my funky mando-bass, it does a fantastic job of picking up the entire range. I've never had issues with it distorting, or even feeding back. The rejection of the cardioid pattern works really well, even with wedge floor monitors. The clip attaches seamlessly to my bass and saves me from the classic acoustic bass battle of trying not to wiggle away from a mic on a stand or avoid hitting it. More than one soundman has told me "Whatever you do - don't get rid of that bass or mic."
