    I was skeptical when I read comparisons between the Aphex Channel and the Avalon VT-737 pre-amps. After using the Aphex to record vocals for the last couple of days, I must say that the gear lived up to the hype and good reviews it has received. The tube pre-amp sounds great. I'd say somewhere similar to an Avalon or an SSL pre-amp tone for about a third of the prices. The de-esser is very nice, as well. The compressor and EQ are also quality components and while they don't offer every versatile feature I would like, I am quite satisfied with what I received for the money I paid.
