Ampeg 4x10 with horn bass cabinet

I have an older model Ampeg 4x10 bass cabinet with the horn, and I just love it. This particular bass cabinet is from the 80's, but the sound is unbelievable. I use an Ampeg B2R 300watt head, and play a Schecter Diamond Series bass, and also an Ibanez SGR. Both sound fantastic going through this amp head and cabinet, you can feel the ground shake beneath you as you play. Wonderful feeling that I will never trade in or sell, I might get other heads and cabinets eventually, but what I have now I will never get rid of!!

I have always been a big Ampeg fan. I have a clasic portaflex from the sixties and have used it until last year. I wanted an amp that would give me the punch I needed for more modern rock, funk and alternative rock. This cabinet gave me the acoustic punch I was looking for. I use it with an SVT-350HE Head. The truth is Ampeg did it again. I love this amp and cab!

I play in a couple death metal bands and 1 goth/death rock band. I have an SVT6Pro head, 31 parameter EQ, and a BBE Sonic Maximizer powering the cab. I normally use my Ampeg 810, but got this 410 for rehearsals (810 kills my back) and for gigs with hard to reach stages. Depending on gig, I use my Schecter Stilleto Custom, Zon RT-5, or Fender P Bass. This 410 handles everything the 810 does and with better clarity. I love it. I will pair it with a 115 to burden that with the lower boom, but this 410 rocks. I highly recommend it.

this is a great mid/high-range amp it gets over the mix pretty well and holds up pretty well other than the vinyl gets ripped pretty easy when travling but all together is a great amp
Awesome combination clarity and warm tone

Like the Fender Precision and Jazz Basses, Ampeg is a true Icon in every sense of the word. More hits have been recorded using Ampeg than any other amp out there, and there is a reason why, T O N E! The SVT 410HE possesses an exceptional WARM and CLEAR tone that in my opinion is second to none! Whether it is used as a stand alone cabinet, or matched with a 15 or 18 bottom, the 410HE is far superior to most cabinets out there that cost nearly $400-500 dollars more. In live applications, the 410HE cuts through the mix much better than the "in-the-now" ported cabinets, and allows you to be HEARD, not just felt. I will caution you, if you want a Boomy sound, this is not your cabinet. If you want warmth and clarity, this is your baby! Yes, I've tried several cabinets to include Eden, Epifani, Glock.....,GK, Mesa and SWR, and I prefer this cabinet over all of them. I simply can't say enough about this rig, and as long as my ears hear that tone, I will play mine forever!
