Portaflex Series Demo Part 2

collapse expand iconDescription

The Ampeg PF-115HE Portaflex 1x15 bass speaker cabinet combines the iconic styling of Ampeg's legendary Portaflex series with the performance of a modern 450W cab. The PF-115HE's 15" Eminence driver and 1" high-frequency driver push out the true, vintage-inspired sound Ampeg is known for, with a level control to tailor the highs. Deliver iconic Ampeg tone everywhere.

Iconic Portaflex Design, Modern Power

Drawing from the classic design of Ampeg's legendary Portaflex cabinets, the PF-115HE brings vintage appeal together with robust, gig-ready power. Its vintage-style grille, durable vinyl covering and metal logo plate pay homage to Ampeg's iconic 1960s Portaflex series, while its 450W power handling and durable plywood construction equip the PF-115HE for the demands of today's working musicians.

Customize Your Sound With Onboard Controls

Shape your tone with the PF-115HE's onboard controls for dialing in the perfect amount of low end and highs. The 15" Eminence driver delivers powerful, accurate bass reproduction from 40Hz up to 5kHz. A 1" high-frequency driver extends the frequency range up to 18kHz, and its level control lets you adjust the highs to suit your bass, playing style and performance needs.

Portable, Versatile Design

As part of Ampeg's Portaflex series, the PF-115HE lets you attach any PF series bass head to its top panel for an all-in-one amp solution. Its compact, portable size makes transporting your entire rig a breeze. Two durable handles and casters allow for easy loading and setup. Best of all, you can flip the PF-115HE's cabinet inside the headshell for protection during transport, then simply flip it back out and lock the head in place when you arrive at your gig.

Premium Components for Premium Tone

To achieve the authentic Ampeg sound, the PF-115HE is built from the highest-quality components. Its 15" Eminence driver and 1" high-frequency driver are specially selected to reproduce the warm, punchy tone Ampeg is known for. The plywood cabinet construction and durable vinyl exterior provide a dense, resonant enclosure for the speakers to push serious air.

collapse expand iconWarranty

On May 1st, 2009, the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg websites will be updated with the addition of warranty URLs (e.g. www.mackie.com/warranty) expressing new A Stock warranty terms. These warranty URLs will go live on May 1st, 2009. Formerly, warranty periods for these LOUD brands appeared in a variety of locations – in product manuals (for Mackie and TAPCO) and on warranty cards and hang tags (for Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg). In order to streamline and clarify this process, Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg warranty periods and terms will be communicated in full on the warranty pages. Any LOUD products purchased prior to May 1st will bear with them the manufacturer’s warranty as predates the new policy. Moving through this transition, in order for customers to obtain warranty service, both the sales receipt and a physical copy of the (older) warranty statement will be required by our Service and Support departments in order to issue Service Requests, etc. If the product was purchased on or after May 1st, 2009, but a physical copy of the older warranty terms is not presented, the new warranty terms and periods will apply. Meanwhile, the products that bear with them the new warranty periods (as reflected in the box contents of each product) are being tracked by serial #, and contain new warranty content referring customers to the appropriate brand website. The information below reflects the product warranty periods that will be effective on May 1st, 2009 for the Mackie, TAPCO, Crate, Blackheart and Ampeg brands: Mackie: A 3-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on electronics and a 2-year, nontransferable, inclusive warranty on drivers (where applicable) apply to loudspeakers (active and passive), power amps, powered mixers, and HR studio monitors. Small venues, studio, practice amp. This makes a PBass sound real. Very portable, and good looking too.

Get an amp stand. Otherwise you and your bandmates wont hear it on stage. If you can hear yourself without one, you are blowing the sound of the rest of the band out in the crowd

  • Killer tone and can handle the power

This cab is a sleeper and it has handled all sized venues with ease and when you combine it with a bass head that has great power and tone you will reject any backline and choose this one over it. The 450 watt speaker punches out the lows while the horn supplies real sonic snap when called upon. I have been playing professionally for more years that I care to state and have worked over 100 dates this year and have many rigs to choose from but this cabinet is usually choice number one when I load up and ride out.

The addition of the PF-115HE to my PF-500 & PF-210HE rounded out the sound with the essential bottom to my rig. Connected separately the PF-115HE is an excellent sounding cabinet. Highly recommended!

I bought this cabinet along with th Ampeg pf350 head unit. I wanted that classic Ampeg tone. I was not disappointed. It thumps. The cabinet is solidly belt and deceptively heavy for the size. It does comne with built in casters and with the flip top design make it easy to use. It looks great too.
