The Micro-CL 100W 2x10 MIni Bass Stack from Ampeg delivers the look and sound of "classic" Ampeg that you've heard in countless recordings, TV shows and concerts on a miniaturized scale. Let's face it. If you could keep your full SVT stack in your living room you would. With the MIcro-CL it's not only possible, but plausible. Ampeg took their Classic SVT rig, the sonic reference point by which all other bass amps are measured, and made it manageable and functional. It pumps out 100W of power at 8 ohms from its solid-state head which is perfect for smaller gigs and rehearsals. The Micro-CL delivers the unique sound that bass players all over the world have come to expect from their rigs. Featuring classic Ampeg grille cloth, Tolex and trim, you can spot an Ampeg SVT rig from the other side of the stadium or the other side of the living room.

It's good for the right purpose
By DAVID ALLEN

Comments about Ampeg Micro-CL 100W 2x10 Mini Bass Stack Black:
I started with its big brother, the Ampeg SVT Classic, which is AMAZING and perfect for gigs. I bought this unit to I could rehearse at home without making the house shake. It's fine for personal practice time. It's not something you could use at a gig, or even at rehearsal with the band. I use a Hartke kickback at rehearsal which is much more capable than this unit. So if you are playing just for yourself, and you want that Ampeg SVT sound, this is close; it's not tube based, and it does not have the exact sound, but it's close.

Great little practice amp; very poor manufacturing and QC..
By Gary Henderson

Comments about Ampeg Micro-CL 100W 2x10 Mini Bass Stack Black:
I've actually had 2 of these in 2 months and have played them less than than 1 week. The first was purchased at GC and it was shipped to me from the GC warehouse. When it arrived, there was a terrible buzz coming from it. Ampeg support could hear the noise over the phone and had me return it to GC. GC shipped me another...with the same problem. I called Ampeg and asked them to arrange a local repair center. The repair tech diagnosed the amp head with SEVERAL PROBLEMS! It's taken Ampeg over a week just to ship the repair tech a new head. The amp is simple and seems to have a nice Ampeg tone. GC has been great to work with. Ampeg support is ok, but SLOW. I don't know whether the actual problem is the amp head's components, where they were sourced (probably China), the Chinese assembly process, or the quality control. I'd completely avoid this amp until the problems are worked out and you see a few positive reviews. 2 for 2 is pretty bad....

Perfect Practice Amp
By Michael Milz
from Leadville, CO
Comments about Ampeg Micro-CL 100W 2x10 Mini Bass Stack Black:
I live in an apartment and bought this thing mainly because of the auxilary and headphone features. The separate volume control for the auxilary input is brilliant. I plug my computer into it and have the ability to play along with any song I can think of. It also works great with a metronome. This amp also produces a much better tone than I expected. I think if you're looking for a practice amp to use at home, by yourself, this is a perfect little amp.

Comments about Ampeg Micro-CL 100W 2x10 Mini Bass Stack Black:
I bought this amp for the auxiliary section so I could practice silently. It's working quite well. I've ended up rehearsing with two cranked guitarists and drums in a 14x16 treated room and never had the master gain louder than 3. I could definitely gig with it for a small to medium sized venue.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Good for drum machine or bass, not keyboards
By Jim MOSIER
from Buffalo NY
Comments about Ampeg Micro-CL 100W 2x10 Mini Bass Stack Black:
I was so happy to bring this home and expected it would be the perfect amp. Lightweight and cost effective. Tried it out at GC with my Boss DR 880 drum machine. Both drums & bass sounded very good, so I bought it. When I got it home I expected that my keyboards would be fair to good as well. Wrong, the Casio Cdp 100 was terrible. My Roland FP-5 was better but only about half way there compared to my Roland KC 350 keyboard amp. It was totally my fault to expect my keyboard to sound good on something made for bass. I guess I have learned my lesson. Guitar Center was gracious about taking it back and refunded my money less a small restocking fee because I ordered it rather than taking the floor demo amp. Save your boxes for full refunds.

This stack gets me amped!
Comments about Ampeg Micro-CL 100W 2x10 Mini Bass Stack Black:
Been using a jazz bass on this stack. This amp has some kick. Crisp clear tones, loud enough for garage band. Just right for practice and house parties. Need more power? Just mic it to a PA. I really like the Aux input too.
