Practice and Recording Amp

For the $, this is a great amp. Nice tone and plenty of volume. This is a PRACTICE AMP. Anybody talking about how it didn't cut it "at the club" is a fool and obviously an amateur. if they were a pro, they would have guessed. That being said, you COULD use this in a small, quite coffeehouse type setting with no worries. I bought this for my 11-year-old son to practice on. I have a studio, but he wanted something for our music room upstairs... I also wanted something to use for recording. I use a redbox DI, but it's nice to have a little volume for the bass player without cranking up the NS-10s. You Could use it for recording, but as some have pointed out, it has a little buzz to it. I will try a phase reverse at some point and see if that clears it up...

It's alright to learn on but I've grown to hate it.

It was good to learn on but afte4 you use ut for so long and have put 100s of hours into it you really start to hate the thing. It's hard to describe but you just discover so many small things that make you annoted that just build up to make a ball of stress.

This is a no-frills solid state bass amp which is perfect for practice sessions in the home or jam sessions with some friends who are bringing over acoustic 6-strings and you're only packing an electric 4 or 5 string (do not expect this to get over a drum set - look elsewhere for that). The sound reproduction is spot on without any fuss.

Simple, basic, and perfect for what it is. No frills bass amp that is powerful, has a -15db and is super clean. You don't get that low end buzz if you don't want it.

I'm using this amp with a short scale bass basically to learn with. Works just fine for that.

It is awesome for the money, especially at home and small gigs. As a by-product, it also functions great if you connect a guitar. And let me explain: Since the distortion due to gain is so low, it can also be used as a great acoustic guitar amplifier. For electric guitar, it is still great for clean tones. Needless to say, it is not designed to be an electric guitar amplifier, therefore, if you do need a distorted sound, you need some effects pedals, etc.

There should be a battery compartment located on the top of the body.
