Alvarez 2017 Product Video - LJ2 "Little Jumbo" Travel Guitar

Description
The term “solid top” of course refers to the soundboard of an acoustic guitar being made of solid wood, rather than being laminated. However, just because the top is solid, it does not necessarily mean the sound automatically benefits from this feature. The tone of the instrument only improves significantly when the whole guitar is built correctly to optimize the energy a solid soundboard can generate. Artist Series is built to do exactly this.
Each model is designed to get the best out if its components, and for them to work together to produce balance, lively projection and great response. These components include the FST2 bracing system, bi-level rosewood bridge, real bone nut and saddle, great quality tone woods and thin finish.
FST2 is a forward shifted X brace design, this means the axis of the X is closer to the sound hole and therefore creates a larger soundboard area allowing for more energy and vibration to be harnessed. Both the X braces and asymmetric tone bars are carefully scalloped. The scalloping design was the result of years of continual development in the Yairi workshops.
Alvarez tops are selected graded in-house. If it isn't worthy, they won’t use it. Top quality improves as you move up the Artist Series models but all are stiff and finely grained.
Along with a more angled headstock, the bi-level bridge increases string tension by making the break angel of the strings from the saddle to the top more acute. Improved string tension adds to the sound, feel and response, which are also heightened by the use of real bone nuts and saddles.
Artist Series also demonstrates great finishing capabilities; the gloss models have a clear deep shine from a finish that is applied as thinly as possible, again to help optimize tone.

Awesome Travel/parlor guitars

This is a fabulous travel companion. I leave Colorado in the spring and spend the summer in Maine on a sailboat. Very different conditions. This guitar handles the changes in elevation and humidity and keeps on smiling. I did have a set up done by my luthier and had him pull the original tuners and install mini Grovers. Since then it just sings! It is so comfortable to play. Stays in tune. Great neck and playability. I am using DR Veritas lights 12-54. The sound, tone, timbre all make me smile. I have expensive acoustic guitars that absolutely sound better and cost thousands more. But this guitar does it all very well for me. Strum. Finger style, and flat pick. Bone nut and saddle on a guitar at this price is amazing. And I can take it anywhere and have zero concerns. The volume projection is really good for this size guitar. It has an arched back that I suspect adds to the great projection of sound. As well as a bi-level bridge. It looks good too. I believe the 'mini jumbo' name fits it perfectly. It is no little sounding guitar. Trebles and mids and bass notes are all clear and not muddy. I would recommend this guitar and I would buy it again quickly if I lost it. Out of many parlor/travel sized guitars I have played ( been playing for 50 years) I really this one. Give it a go. Have a good set up. These Alvarez guitars are among the best bang for buck on the market. And their higher priced acoustics just get better. Thank GC and St. Louis Music!
Great Little Guitar

This is a great little guitar for sitting on the couch and practicing. I intend to take it camping and leave my good guitar at home. Finger picking it has a great tone. I've found it a bit lacking when it comes to strumming, but then I'm comparing it to my Taylor Dreadnought.
The LJ2 is a little beast.

What a great little guitar... I'm not sure why more people haven't found this guitar because it sounds, plays and looks AMAZING! I have to give it to Alvarez for creating an exceptional product at an affordable price point. I am a Taylor guy, but for the money, there isn't a travel guitar that can compete with the LJ2. Of course, sound is in the ear of the beholder, but l can't imagine anyone not digging this cool, little instrument. If you haven't checked it out, and your interested in a travel guitar, then this little gem should be at the top of your list. Excellent job Alvarez...and thx Guitar Center.
I would recommend this to anyone

The video shows an Alvarez gig bag. Most other retailers indicate the guitar comes with that gig bag. In your features section, it says that the case is sold separately. Does this guitar come with the gig bag shown in the video?
The gig bag is included.
