This guitar is a prime example of what makes Alvarez's Laureate Series so special: meticulous attention to detail, premium materials and a focus on crafting instruments that inspire. Marrying traditional craftsmanship with modern design, the LD710e boasts all-solid wood construction, hand-selected bracing and Alvarez's new ultra-thin, vintage-inspired Daybreak finish for superior projection, tonal balance and dynamic range. And for seamless performance on stage or in the studio, the LD710e features the innovative LR Baggs Hi-Fi electronics system, capturing the warm, natural tone of your instrument in any setting. It's a timeless acoustic-electric designed to elevate your musical journey.

Superior Tonewoods for Enhanced Sound

The LD710e's sonic foundation is built upon the finest tonewoods. The solid AAA Sitka spruce top sings with clarity and projection, delivering a balanced tone across the frequency spectrum. This premium spruce is carefully seasoned and then treated with Alvarez's proprietary ATR (Acoustic Tone Resonator) process, a specialized vacuum-kilning technique that enhances the wood's natural resonance, increasing sensitivity and responsiveness for a truly dynamic playing experience. The solid East Indian rosewood back and sides complement the spruce top perfectly, adding warmth, depth and rich overtones to the guitar's voice. This combination of tonewoods creates a powerful and articulate sound, ideal for a wide range of musical styles.

Precision Bracing for Optimal Resonance

The internal architecture of the LD710e is as carefully considered as its outward appearance. Alvarez's hand-finished FS6 bracing system is at the heart of the guitar's exceptional resonance. Each brace is individually selected from premium quartersawn Sitka spruce, chosen for its straight, fine-grained quality that provides a lively and dynamic tonal profile. The braces are then meticulously hand-sanded for premium responsiveness. Even the side braces are hand-selected from rosewood that matches the back and sides, demonstrating Alvarez's commitment to consistency and quality throughout the instrument. This exacting approach to bracing ensures that the LD710e responds to even the most subtle nuances of the player's touch, delivering a truly expressive and inspiring playing experience.

Premium Ebony Appointments and Exclusive Finish

The LD710e exudes elegance and sophistication with its premium appointments. The solid African ebony bridge, fingerboard and headstock overlay not only enhance the guitar's aesthetic appeal but also contribute to its clear and powerful voicing. The fingerboard's smooth surface provides a comfortable playing feel, while the blue abalone inlays add a touch of understated luxury. The Daybreak gloss finish is a brand-new color developed specifically for the Laureate Series. This unique finish showcases the natural beauty of the tonewoods and adds a subtle vintage vibe. It's designed to be as thin as possible while maintaining a gorgeous luster, allowing the guitar to breathe and resonate freely, further contributing to its exceptional tonal qualities.

Stage-Ready With LR Baggs Electronics

The Alvarez LD710e is ready for any stage or studio environment thanks to its integrated LR Baggs Hi-Fi electronics system. This innovative system utilizes a bridge plate sensor to capture the guitar's natural acoustic tone with exceptional accuracy and detail. Unlike traditional under-saddle pickups, the bridge plate sensor is able to capture the vibrations of the entire soundboard, resulting in a more natural and dynamic amplified sound. Providing superior clarity, warmth and responsiveness, the LR Baggs Hi-Fi system is designed for professional musicians who demand the highest quality sound reinforcement. Whether you're performing live or recording in the studio, the LD710e's electronics ensure that your audience hears the true voice of your instrument.

Great guitar. This guiar is similar in spec to an Alvarez LD70e Daybreak, but has some cosmetic difference. I'll go over the Pro first then talk about the differences which are not listed or displayed on the GC website. Pros. Guitar sounds and plays amazing. It is made of high quality woods including a AAA spruce top. The daybreak finish is pretty cool. It is responsive and already opening up after only a few hours. I can hear the bass notes starting to fill out. Electronics are nice as well. Cons: Frets could be polished better, they are scratchy on bends. Neck has a few uneven carve spots which surprise me. Differences: Not displayed are the differences in staining on the back and neck. Instead of medium brown neck and a chocolate body they went with a very dark finish for both. This hides all the wood grain from the rosewood. Jugding by the quality of the rosewood from the guitar interior this is a shame. Also it makes the neck blend into the ebony board. I would have loved the contrast there. I do not like this look as much. It makes me feel like they are hiding a low quality wood product. The stain on the neck is blotchy as well. PLEASE note the images I posted were brigthened in camera. they are much darker in person. Also pictured is the actual daybreak finish of this guitar. Its nice, but not as pictured. I'm giving it 4 stars. 5 Stars for tone and playability. 3 stars because cosmetically I would have preferred the standard ld70e options and had no idea I would get these cosmetic choices.

Fit and finish are as nice as anything I have seen. It sounds and plays great. It took about an hour to become my favorite dread I have owned. Setup is perfect. Forget where it's made, buy one and enjoy it.

  • Amazing guitar for the money!

This thing is beautiful. Craftsmanship is on par with my Eastman AC622 Koa. There is some debate about the differences between this and the LD70e. Alvarez says they are built to the same specs and that the 710 does not come with a padded bag. They also said the rosewood on the 710 is darker and doesn't show the wood grain as much. If you are on the fence, just buy it. You won't be sorry.

What is the difference between the LD710e and the L70e? Is it only the AAA vs AAAA and is only aesthetic?

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
The LD70E is a Masterworks. Solid Sitka Spruce or Engelmann (varies). More detailed binding, abalone rosette. It also has a higher grade laminate. The LD710E tends to be an older model, slightly more basic in decoration but still high quality with a solid top. The LD70E is either a later version or a higher trim model — often with more ornate detailing, and sometimes solid back and sides (depending on year and market). Both are dreadnoughts with electronics, but the 70E often looks and feels a bit "fancier" and could have slightly better pickups depending on the release year.
