Alvarez
Description
Alvarez's CC7HCEAR Cádiz Classical Hybrid acoustic-electric is a beautiful instrument made from Sitka and walnut with a flawless gloss finish and acacia binding and armrest. It has a 14th fret neck joint, radius fingerboard and narrower nut width making it a great guitar for steel string players looking for a nylon string sound, without such a departure from a steel string in terms of feel and playability.

Cádiz Series
Cádiz offers responsive and engaging nylon string guitars of solid quality and excellent playability. Everything about them is considered and chosen. They are a new shape, different from classical guitars Alvarez has made in the past, slightly taller, slightly narrower, more elegant.

In order to make the guitars as responsive as possible, Alvarez kept them as light as possible in construction while staying true to traditional design. So in the standard models there are no trussrods. The necks are three-piece and a solid ebony center rod gives them the strength and lightness needed.

Cádiz models are also made with a Spanish heel neck joint. Ramirez and other great luthiers were a huge influence when it came to choosing scale length. The Cádiz scale length is longer than the standard 650 mm (25.6”) you will find on many classical guitars. At 662 mm (26.06”) the Cadiz scale length raises the tension just a little and helps deliver more energy into the soundbox to harness and shape. Alvarez chose AA Sitka tops on all Cádiz models, the saddle and nut are real bone, rosettes are wood mosaic and bridges and fingerboards are pau ferro or rosewood.

The soundbox is more lightly built, the tops are graduated and each brace is custom cut and sanded with four varying widths in total. The bracing design gives a slight nod to Jose Ramirez III’s asymmetric architecture in the fact that these guitars have a treble bar. This is to stiffen up the treble side of the top a little more which helps create very round, bell-like trebles on the first three strings. The bass side of the top is kept light by using slightly thinner braces, helping give the player very open, clear and strong bass response.

Other fine appointments include the use of traditional cypress wood for the Flamenco model back and sides, which is paired with ebony binding.

When I went shopping for an upgraded acoustic steel string, I had no idea that my favorite guitar I picked up would end up being a classical hybrid. I had never played a nylon string guitar. I kept coming back to this amazing Alvarez in the store, and had a huge smile on my face every time I played it. It is so comfortable, and the sound is so lovely. It is fun for strumming and finger picking. It's got a great tone to sing along with. The arm rest makes it extra comfortable. And, it's so pretty! I am very happy with my purchase. I highly recommend this guitar.

Sold a version of this guitar years ago. It broke my heart. Uncle Sam got his pound of flesh in taxes. But now I'm back to being happy again. My new Cadiz is even better than the old one!

Does this guitar have a narrow neck and narrow body? I have a narrow neck Alvarez, but it has a regular body. I also have a narrow body Alvarez with a regular neck. I want both to be narrow since I have small hands.

      Open Reply - Thomas
This has a longer than standard neck. It can be a bit more of a stretch. The neck is narrow, the body not so much. Please give us a call to better help you out – 877-687-5403
