Alvarez Guitars - 2016 Artist Series Featurette

Alvarez
Description
Tuned from B to B, the ABT60E is pitched between a dreadnought and acoustic bass to give you deep tones with easy playability. Chord shapes and scales are the same as a standard six string but the voicing is lower. This is one of Alvarez's best-selling models and within five minutes of owning one you'll see why, great guitar to play.

The SYS550 designed by B-BAND is a pro-level EQ and pickup that reproduces the sound of the guitar very closely with great clarity. B-BAND use a patented under saddle electret film pick up which eliminates synthetic or processed sounds often heard with piezo or other styles of pickup. The result is a very true, acoustic sound. SYS550 also has an accurate, backlit chromatic digital tuner.

Artist Series is now "The Award Winning Artist Series" - winning competitions and receiving rave reviews in the States, Europe and around the world. It's a truly designed line of guitars that stands tall and sounds sweet in the solid top guitar market.

Hand-selected solid tops; forward shifted scalloped bracing, awesome tone and player experience¦

The term "solid top" of course refers to the soundboard of an acoustic guitar being made of solid wood, rather than being laminated. However, just because the top is solid, it does not necessarily mean the sound automatically benefits from this feature. The tone of the instrument only improves significantly when the whole guitar is built correctly to really release the energy a solid soundboard can generate. Artist Series is built to do exactly this.

Each model is designed to get the best out if its components, and for them to work together to produce a tone and player experience, rarely found in affordable instruments. These components include our FST2M bracing system, bi-level bridge, real bone nut and great quality tonewoods.

FSTM is a forward-shifted X brace design. Both the X braces and asymmetric tone bars are scalloped. Moving the system forward allows for a larger soundboard, which is optimized with a solid maple bridge plate for both strength and energy.

The sound is warm, open and powerful, and both the treble and bass registers are clearly present and balanced in relation to each other. These guitars feel right and are exciting to play and responsive. Dig in and they shout right back at you, treat them gently and they whisper and respond instantly to the lightest strum or pick.

The solid A+ grade Sitka spruce are hand-selected from quarter-sawn wood. This ensures consistent quality, and its no secret better guitars are made from better wood. Alvarez's tops not only look great but they are stiff and strong and finely grained.

It matches my voice, allowing me to sing songs that would be impossible otherwise.

Such a beautiful sound to this guitar! I had never played a baritone guitar before and this one just wowed me when I started to play it. It struggles to stay in tune but I believe it's because it's brand new with new strings.

This was my first online order from Guitar Center. Guitar arrived quickly, looked and felt great, but the action was horrific. Spent another $80 having GC set the action and now I love it!

Very, very happy! I've wanted a baritone for 25 years now, finally got it, and am very pleased with this alvarez. Such a rich, deep sound; needed to modify my strumming pattern to emphasize individual strings/string pairs more (given how low these notes are, full cords get a bit muddy, even compared to my cedar-top guitar) but I'm absolutely loving the difference! The big body just throws those notes out so clearly and powerfully-- wonderful for accompanying another guitar or singer. All frets sound clean and evenly-strong, and on my guitar, intonation is perfect out-of-the-box on each string. Action is perfect for my play style-- I often hit strings fairly hard and have no fret buzz, but stings are low enough I can move around quickly. I like the length and width of the neck- good for my long arms and big fingers. I do wish it was a cutaway-- almost went for the Ibanez for that reason, but am so happy with this guitar's sound I have no regrets. Alvarez JC1 Jumbo Acoustic Guitar Case was a perfect fit, BTW, and cheap.
