Alvarez AG610CEARB Armrest Grand Auditorium Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural

Artist Series
The term "solid top" refers to the soundboard of an acoustic guitar being made of solid wood, rather than being laminated. However, just because the top is solid, it does not necessarily mean the sound automatically benefits from this feature. The tone of the instrument only improves significantly when the whole guitar is built correctly to optimize the energy a solid soundboard can generate. Artist Series is built to do exactly this.
Each model is designed to get the best out if its components, and for them to work together to produce balance, lively projection and great response. These components include Alvarez's FST2 bracing system, bi-level rosewood bridge, real bone nut and saddle, great quality tonewoods and thin finish. FST2 is a forward shifted X brace design, this means the axis of the X is closer to the sound hole and therefore creates a larger soundboard area allowing for more energy and vibration to be harnessed. Both the X braces and asymmetric tone bars are carefully scalloped. The scalloping design was the result of years of continual development in Alvarez's Yairi workshops.
The Artist Series sound and personality is open and powerful. FST2 also creates very good balance so both the treble and bass registers are clearly present and balanced in relation to each other. Artist Series feel right and are exciting to play; no matter if you are strumming hard or picking lightly, the guitar will do what you ask of it.
All of Alvarez's tops are selected by their team and graded independently of their suppliers. If it isn't worthy, they won’t use it. Top quality improves as you move up the Artist Series models but all are stiff and finely grained. Along with a more angled headstock, their bi-level bridge increases string tension by making the break angle of the strings from the saddle to the top more acute. Improved string tension adds to the sound, feel and response, which are also heightened by the use of real bone nuts and saddles.
Alvarez Guitars
After 50 years of making guitars, continual improvement through the use of emerging technologies, processes, and materials is still at the heart of their culture. Alvarez guitars are constructed correctly in every sense, from raw material preparation to construction and manufacturing processes. Tonewoods are carefully cured; components such as neck blocks and wood joints are carefully designed. The painting, sanding and polishing techniques used are continually researched and developed, and their tone is impeccably crafted and married to a stable, consistent and lively sound box.
This caring approach to development comes from one simple goal: delivering the best guitars in the market at every price point, instruments that are truly amazing value and offer a fantastic player experience. Alvarez believes their multi-award-winning Artist Series is one of the finest solid top guitar lines in the world today and demonstrates their commitment to design.

I saw this guitar on the website on sale. I was drawn to the bevel and the Grand Auditorium size. I had my shoulder replaced so my Martin Dreadnaught caused alot of discomfort. This guitar is phenomenal the look and sound is great. The sound is robust and clear. Bye it !
I really don't know , maybe.

Plays good and has a great sound, beautiful guitar. I haven't really tried out the pickup system yet. The specs on line says it has a b-band pickup system, but I think from checking it out it's a system 100 Alvarez pickup system with simple volume and tone. Inside the body on the input preamp it has Alvarez written on it and not b-band.Don't know how quality the sound will be, but I'll probably check it out in the future.
Almost Great

Once I changed the strings this is a really nice sounding guitar. Almost as good as those premium brand products in the $1200 range. It should be noted that the electronics are nearly useless. If you need to plug in, this is not the guitar for you. I almost never do, so for me it is not a deal breaker. I have others for that. My only other slight problem is that the nut is 44.5 width which is definately wider than average, making it a little hard to handle if you have small hands. I caught a great sale of 30% off so for me it was a no brainer.
Sounds like a $1200 Taylor

I bought this guitar 3 years ago as my 3rd guitar. The quality and range of the sound is excellent. Steady deep bass, and sweet sharp high notes. Highly recommended. Also love the slight bevel, I didn't think I would but it does make plating longer more comfortable. Get extra strings, the EXP-16 are sweet.

I was curious about this guitar. It had dead strings but still played well and sounded great. Even has an arm bevel which makes it more comfortable to play. Minor truss rod adjustment and a brand new set of strings made it sing like guitars 4 and 5 times more expensive that I own! How can you go wrong?
If I would purchase another guitar, I buy this guitar again.

What kind of electronic installed in this guitar. What is the function of this kind of electronic installed.
It is an under saddle pickup. It takes the vibration of the bridge and converts that into sound. It's an under-saddle pickup. It feels the vibrations from the saddle and plays it through an amp.submitted6 years ago

My Dad bought one of these and an amp and cord. Is there a battery for the pickup? I see some little dials on the pickup in the sound hole, and we tried them every way, not getting anything out of the amp..

Does this guitar have a volume, and tone control in the sound hole? The pictures aren't very clear on this issue. If so, could you send me a better picture of the controls in the sound hole?
We don't have a way to get images of inside the soundhole, but that is where it is located.
