Alpine Earplugs are cool

**Earplugs are cool, kids!** Don't mess about with your hearing because tinnitus is no joke—trust me. If you're someone who enjoys going to loud gigs and has finally decided to ditch the "too cool for school" attitude, these are some of the best earplugs I've tried. Yes, they lower the volume, but the sound is attenuated in a way that still captures the highs and lows, with perhaps a slight roll-off of the highs. To be honest, they actually make a lot of gigs sound much better. How many shows have you been to with dreadful PA systems, poor room acoustics, and a chaotic mess of guitar thrashing and bass reverberating everywhere? These plugs seem to tame that beast and bring the sound back into focus. Another bonus is that you can actually talk to and hear people during the gig. I only wish I'd started using these 20 years ago! One thing to note: I do have smaller ear canals and haven't had any issues with fit or removal, but I've read that they might not be ideal for those with larger ear canals, so I can't speak to that.

These are great for reducing the volume of background noise while maintaining your ability to hear what's important. I use them at live concerts, marching band rehearsals, ball games, etc.. anywhere there's too much noise but I still want to hear what's going on. The only thing I've found that I can't do well with these in is play a brass instrument... the buzz in my head makes it difficult to actually hear what's coming out of my horn. They work fine with woodwinds, percussion, and strings, though. I keep a pair on my keychain at all times at home and work, and they come in handy more often than you would think.
