Description
The Allen & Heath QU-32 Chrome Edition Digital Mixer combines a stunning chrome finish with high-end components and processing power. This 32 channel digital mixer is ideal for professional touring, installation and recording applications where pristine audio quality and reliability are paramount. Boasting next-generation preamps, advanced 48kHz/24-bit multi-channel USB recording and playback, as well as configurable effects and dynamics processing, the QU-32 provides an unparalleled level of flexibility and connectivity.
High-Performance Preamps Provide Pristine Gain
The Qu-32 Chrome Edition features 32 AnalogiQ total recall preamps with zero crossing detection and an advanced padless dB step gain stage. The AnalogiQ design has been refined to offer superb transparency, minimal distortion and an ultra low noise floor, with a warm, musical sound that is missing from many digital consoles.
Onboard USB Interface Enables Flawless Multi-Channel Recording
The Qu-32's built in interface streams multitrack audio to your Mac or Windows computer. Any combination of inputs and mixes can be patched to the USB interface. The returns from the computer can be assigned to the input channels. The interface is class compliant on Mac OS X – which means it's truly plug and play, with no need to install a driver. An ASIO/WDM driver is available for Windows computers. Standard MIDI control is tunneled over the USB connection so you can easily map the faders to the tracks of your favorite DAW. Additionally, the DAW Control driver for Mac OS X enables better DAW integration via HUI or Mackie Control emulation.
Assignable Faders and Rotary Encoders Provide Total Control
The QU-32 features 33 ALPS motorized faders, allowing you to have hands-on control over levels, aux sends, FX sends, and more. Below the faders are rotary encoders that can be freely assigned to a variety of parameters for an additional level of precision control. This combination of faders and encoders provides a seamless analog-style workflow in a compact digital mixer.

Amazing Mixer For Churches!!!
submitted8 years ago
byPaul
fromInman, SC
Purchased this mixer for our church. We were shopping for a 32 channel digital board but didn't want the Behringer X32 because of common fader failures. A&H has a great reputation and plus I've heard nothing but good about this mixer. Easy choice! I love this mixer! It has three different levels of access, each can be password protected. Basic level let's the very basic user turn on each channel and adjust the volume for it. Standard is adjustable where you can set what the standard user can do. Of course, admin can do it all. Great for churches where some inexperienced teen can mess something up. Problem solved! Only give them basic access until they are ready for more in-depth adjustments and access. The iPad app is the best I've ever seen on a digital board. Fine tune adjustable faders (that seems to be hard to achieve on a touchscreen) and same three levels of access. We like to record a stereo track of each service, but until now we had to have an interface and program to run. Now it's easier than ever with a flash drive or hard drive attached. Very good layout, just a joy to use! Have I mentioned I love this board??
Complete & Versatile Solution for Recording and Live Shows

This board is a complete & comprehensive solution for both recording and live performance applications. While it has an "analog" feel, and is pretty intuitive out of the box, it is worth spending some time reviewing all of the features and capabilities to take advantage of all the QU-32 can do. The QU-32 offers expansive customization for live shows with such features as a comprehensive effects library, 4 internal effects sends, parametric and graphic EQ and the ability to create various control groups for easy and fast control of common functions/settings. The scene feature allows you to easily store and recall complete settings for particular songs, venues, uses... There is also a handy security feature that can be used to prevent adjustment of certain settings you want to hold constant. The free iPad (1 connection ) and IPhone apps are extremely useful for live shows. The IPad app allows for remote control the board which is helpful for mixing and managing the overall sound (especially where space is tight and the actual mixer is placed in poor proximity for this purpose). The phone app allows each person control of their own monitor mix including every fader, self-defined groups and overall EQ/volume levels. The QU drive works great for live recording of up to 16 channels (direct to a drive without the need for additional computer...). Just set the levels, attach the drive and hit record. In the studio, the QU 32 is a capable interface for recording ( I use it with a MAC and logic) with the ability to act as a midi controller (via custom layer selection) while simultaneously managing other functions in the studio environment. You can also take advantage of the onboard effects if desired. As with live performances, there are a number of features and controls that allow for extensive customization. This board has replaced my entire analog set-up - 2 boards, EQ's, Effects, Compression... So much easier set up & use. Love the board. Highly Recommend.
I would buy this product again and again...

Allen & Heath QU-32 Chrome Edition Digital Mixer Review Greetings to you interested in the QU-32, I would like to share my experience of using the QU-32 in a home studio setup. This digital mixer is designed primarily for live recording, but with the addition of a DAW (Preferably Mac, aside from routing, mostly plug and play) it becomes a real powerhouse! You have 18 channels "virtually hardwired" from the QU-32 into the DAW, these can be mixed in the DAW and returned to the QU-32 as a finished stereo track. The onboard QU-Drive can record a stereo track or 18ch multitrack "out of the box", but to do "punch in punch outs" you will need a DAW. The purchase of the QU-32 is an upgrade from a Mackie 1604 VLZ mixer. So there is a learning curve associated with having so many options in the digital realm. Amazing resourses at the A&H forums really helped in the transition. The results, after spending a few weeks with my nose in the books? Simply stunning, the details captured when recording thru this deck are amazing, and it has a "warm" clear sound that makes mixdown a real pleasure. The headroom afforded in this deck was one of my considerations for buying and was not disappointed. There are a few caveats; the system is set at 48 hz recording/playback, the added cost of a DAW and the learning curve. For myself, I continue to be amazed by the professional quality audio this board can produce at this price point. Once you've grasped the workflow of the board, you find it is set up very intuitivly. My compliments to Guitar Center and Allen&Heath for offering a quality product...
