This book is the best, I'm addicted. I'm an average player but this book has helped me in several aspects of my playing. Shredding Bach shows the correct fingers to use for each note. I never took lessons so its easy for me to play something incorrectly, this has helped correct that and made me think differently when playing other things too. The difficulty range varies great from easy to almost impossible. I've had the book for months and I'm still using it which is something I can't say about many other books I've purchased.

I bought this book a while back but only started working through it recently.. i have to say that it is an awesome tool for any electric guitarist... Shredder or not.. Having these songs in a tablature format is opening up a world of music for many of us shred-heads that can't read standard notation. And yet we can now benefit from the master of melody, harmony and counterpoint that played a primary role in shaping the course of western art music. Bach is truly a musical genius...and thanks to Mr. Shauss players of all levels can challenge their technique and melodic sensibilities with this material. It is such a satisfying feeling to make it through each of these pieces.. I highly recommend this book for any rock guitarist that wants to broaden his/her horizons and participate in a masterful musical tradition. I am definitely going to be first in line for Shauss's other books.. I can't wait for 'Shredding Paganini' which I hear will be out in a few months! Shauss is definitely doin it right. All the transcriptions are annotated w/ upstroke or downstroke symbols, as well as numbers for which fingers to use on each note... this kind of meticulous transcription helps us rebuild our technique, if necessary, to tackle this awesome music.. Go out and buy it! you won't regret it! SERIOUSLY!
