  • Decent Beginner Kit

I bought this as a beginner kit that wouldn't drive my parents crazy. First off, the literature was a little incomplete and confusing. It does not tell any way to set up the 3 zone ride. The kit comes stock in a 3 zone ride setup, so in order to get any sound out of the ride cymbal I had to learn to change that. I also wish there was somehow to use the cross stick technique on the rim. Also, every time I turn on the kit it says it can't be calibrated. My only other complaint is about the ride cymbal. From day one, it seems to have it's on mind. When I hit the ride cymbal, half of the time it basically sounds like a repeat and makes a sound twice...kinda makes it sound bad as far as your rhythm of a song. Hardware wise, it is a great feeling kit. The snare tightener is sensitive and I have to keep my knee under the snare pad in order for it to stay level, it doesn't stay tight at all. All of that being said, I am complaining a lot, but I am happy with it as a beginner kit. It has been very useful in learning rhythm and how to play the drums. It comes with everything you need except for a bass pedal. For the money it does what I need.

Bought it for my church. I was torn between the pro and the usb model. But since we are low on budget for a enw electric kit we went this route and I tell yah! It was'nt a bad choice at all. It's the best rubber pad I have ever played and it is so quiet. I highly recommend this kit anywhere from intermediate - pro.
