The MPK Mini MK3 Meets & Exceeds EVERY Expectation!!!

I just picked up the MPK Mini MK3 with the thought of having a new addition to my music setup. After loading the software in & setting the controller up on my laptop, I could not be more happier with my decision! First off, it already comes with MPC Beats, along with Hybrid and the Grand Piano software, so interacting with it right out of the box is beyond easy!! Plus the countless different templates and genres in MPC Beats makes for endless hours of creating music. All the things (& more) that I looked for in an incredible piece of musical equipment.

Ready to Return, Just bought yesterday

Do I really have to use the editor to change the midi channel? And I still can't access all 16 channels with ease? Like one knob to scroll through all 16 channels? Please tell me I'm somehow wrong about this, such a BASIC function, simple to do on other midi keyboards I have used. I use an IPAD. I'm not hooking this up to my computer every-time I wanna change midi channels Where is the manual for this thing? Ya it comes with a quickstart guide, this must be where the mpk comes from, mostly pathetic keyboard. I scoured the website and still have not seen a real manual. I even searched the internet and it only came up with the "quckstart guide" Here the worst most laughable part about Akai. They don't even name their product correctly. On the keyboard and on the box it says - Akai MPK mini - Nothing else Here is the list of products in the support section of their website: MPK mini mk3 MPK mini II MPK Mini Play Mk3 MPK Mini Plus Do you see an exact match? I don't. What version of this keyboard do I actually have? It's a mystery to me. (I think it's the MK3, based on Youtube videos I have watched, but it's not on the box or keyboard that I can see.

    The Akai MPK mini mk3 works flawlessly with my MacBook Air and GarageBand, making it easy to create music anywhere. The keys and pads feel great, and the controller is compact but solid.     owning a mpc one plus some of the programs are on your computer that need a keyboard to play and the mpk mini is for the inspiring home producer that can utilize those functions. the keyboard feels good but it is not like its cousin with the speaker you can take on the go. wish it had an audio jack out for headphones other that that it lives up to my expectations for making music

    Yes, the Akai Pro MPK mini mk3 keyboard controller comes with a variety of software, including: MPC Beats AIR Hybrid Mini Grand Velvet MPC expansion packs MPC Beats Academy The software is available for download after registering the MPK mini mk3 in your Akai account. You can use the Software Manager to install the software. The MPK mini mk3 also comes with a Complete Music Production Starter Kit, which includes a DAW, drum and sample expansion packs, and virtual plugin instruments.

    Will this work on-line? Yes but that doesn't answer your needs. You will need a USB interface in order to use the MPK. But the MPK is not a keyboard. It's a controller.
