AQUILA Red Series 85U Concert Ukulele Strings (GCEA Tuning)

Description
Aquilas new approach is nothing less than revolutionary: leaving the gauge unchanged, but increasing the specific weight of the material string by string. As a result, the instrument sounds brighter, more powerful, and more responsive through the entire range of the fretboard.
The strings also maintain their intonation better (because thicker strings need to be fretted harder, pulling them farther out of tune).

The Guitar Center sent me wound strings, the wrong ones. They next sent me Aquila red strings, for a concert use.
Best strings I've every used.

I put these on my concert mahogany kala and it transformed the instrument. I used to play a tenor spruce top kala. However, after I put these on my concert it became my favorite instrument and I couldn't put it down.

Best strings I've ever used. Due to each string having the same diameter, it has made my ukulele easier to play. Also with the texture of the strings it makes it easier to play chords and solo due to my fingers not slipping, which happens a lot to me with fluorocarbon strings. Wonderful bright tone and consistent tone up and down the fretboard. I play jazz, folk , and classical with my ukulele and these strings sound great across all of these genres. These strings will make any ukulele sound more expensive. I love them and now the Aquila Reds are my go to strings
Great choice for my instrument

These strings have really improved my uke. I have a Mitchell MU70 concert uke. The original strings were Aquila Nylgut, and sounded pretty good. After they began to deaden a bit I replaced them with D'Addario EJ65C strings, but they must have been an inappropriate choice for my uke, because they lacked volume and brightness. I was disappointed. The Aquila Red strings are a transformation. Volume, clarity and brightness are all much better. I measured the string diameters and noticed that the Reds are thinner than the EJ65C's. My uke is all laminated woods. Maybe an instrument with solid woods would have resonated better with the EJ's.
Best uke strings on the market

The tone and quality of red series is unbeatable! Some people seem to not like the slightly "rougher" quality of the finishes. But i personally find it helpful. It adds a touch of friction in holding chords and assists with sharper note bends. It also eliminates the squeakiness you find in other uke strings. On top of it all the strength and holding of thier tuning is top notch as well, and furthermore this set never has any "deadspots" where intonation is duller or quieter that i tend to find with other sets. Just try these strings. I think you will be sold.
Nice and thin but...

Nice and thin but they feel "sharp" as if the material is either porous or is covered with burs. Sound?... Far too bright and toy-like for my taste. There is no consistency with the colour, feel or sound of these strings.
