I was a bit worried about the price tag...but

The headphones went on sale and I go them because - I miss listening to music on LPs. The sound was so rich and the headphones made it better; back in the day. Now with all the compression, we miss the good in music. I wanted to get a pair of nice headphones, paired them with a FIIO Amp/DAC and OMG. I am back! I am loving music again. These headphones are amazing. :)

Decent sound quality but uncomfortable top band

The sound quality on these is decent. A tad light on the bass but nice clarity. The ear cups are soft and go completely over the ear making them very comfortable. The top band that sits on my head hurts my head after about 30 minutes of use which is not long in my opinion. I don't have a lot of hair and am curious if these were tested for people with less hair but they hurt. I would suggest the engineers as AKG put some thought into the long term wearability of these.

Simply put the best bang for you dollar. I own Beats Studio 3 series, Bose and these AKG's blow them a way by far. Half the price! Great from recording monitoring or just listening to all types of music. AKG has done a great job. Thank You

Top rated for a reason. These are my go-to headphones for critical listening. Clear and comfortable, and I think those complaining about the bass quality haven't given them a chance or have their perception cloudy by bass-heavy headphones. If my pair ever die (or someone swipes them), I'd buy a new pair in a heartbeat. The only slight negative for me is that the cord is not detachable.
