Sound Incredible As Long As They're Not Broken

I had a pair of these for a little over a year and absolutely loved them. The sound quality was to my liking, very crisp highs, great isolation (a bit tight but I like that), rich deep bass. And then... they started to crack up, literally. I kept noticing cracks on both sides get bigger and bigger until one day the hinge just snapped. I can honestly say I didn't abuse these things either. My advice, if you do pick up a pair, definitely get the GC warranty with it! Luckily I did and they were really cool about giving me a complete refund.

AKG K181DJ DJ Style Headphones...Comfortable but..

I must say, AKG did a great job designing this model. The headphones are comfortable, they adjust easily and are made well with no worries of breaking like some other models and brands. After several weeks of use, I would have preferred a coil cord as I often jerked them off thinking I had more length available as with all the others I've used previously. The detachable cord feature was nice, especially when packing them. I was pleased with the sound quality, although disappointed in it's output. Whether I had the bass function in use, this model doesn't put out the sound level I have grown to expect from other models and brands. For the high price tag, that was a bit deflating.
