The D112 MkII professional dynamic bass drum microphone features a new integrated flexible mount while retaining all the sonic strengths that have made its predecessor an industry standard. Over the years, the D112 has earned a well-deserved reputation as one of the best bass drum microphones ever made, for its high SPL capability, punchy EQ and bulletproof construction.

The D112 MkII can handle more than 160dB SPL without distortion. Its large diaphragm has a very low resonance frequency that delivers a solid and powerful response below 100Hz. Its authoritative low end is complemented by a narrow-band presence boost at 4kHz that punches through even dense mixes and loud stage volumes with forceful impact. One of the many reasons artists and sound engineers love the D112 MkII is that it requires no additional EQ to sound just right as soon as you bring up the fader. Further refining its performance, the D112 MkII features an integrated hum-compensation coil that keeps noise to an absolute minimum.

In addition to being an exceptional bass drum mic on stage and in the studio, the D112 MkII is an excellent choice for miking electric bass cabinets and trombones.

AKG Acoustics, U.S. Limited Warranty

Amended July 19, 2005

AKG Acoustics warrants AKG products against defects in material or workmanship for a period of two years from the date of original purchase, and agrees to repair or, at our option replace any defective unit without charge for either parts or labor. AKG grants a three-year warranty covering selected products (C 12 VR, C 414 B-ULS, C 414 B-TLII, C 414 B-XLS, C 414 B-XLII, C 426 B, C 451 B, C 480 B, C 391 B, C 1000 B, C 2000 S, C 3000 B, C 4000 B, C 4500 B, SolidTube) against defects in material and workmanship.

Warranty is valid for AKG products purchased and delivered within the United States for the original purchaser only. The purchaser's Bill of Sale will serve as proof of sale and warranty validity in the U.S. Shipment of defective items to AKG for repair will be at the customer's own risk and expense. AKG will assume the return shipping cost for all items repaired under warranty.

IMPORTANT: This warranty does not cover damage resulting from accident, misuse or abuse, lack of reasonable care, the affixing of any attachment not provided with the product, loss of parts, or connecting the product to any receptacle other than specified.

This warranty is void unless AKG Acoustics, U.S.'s service center performs the repair. No responsibility is assumed for any special, incidental or consequential damages caused by the consumer. However, the limitation of any right or remedy shall not be effective where law prohibits such.

    On a budget this is a good choice, but like any microphone choice, it really comes down to what your budget is.

    I use this for recording off of my bass amp and it does the job well. I bought this because I was pleased with other AKG equipment that I have and I am not disappointed. It is a little heavy so don't use it with a cheap boom stand or it may fall. I can recommend this mic without reservation. It is a little pricey but well built and a good value.
