DM5 Series Feature Vlog: The Intuitive User Interface

Description

Build the I/O configuration around the system instead of forcing the system around fixed connections with the Yamaha RUio16FLX-D Dante flexible I/O rackmount interface. Designed for professional installations, business audio, live sound and event systems, the RUio16FLX-D provides 16 configurable channels for expanding professional audio systems with limited or no onboard analog connectivity. Designed for installations, business audio, live sound and event systems, this 1U rackmount unit uses Phoenix connectors and allows each two-channel pair to be assigned as analog inputs, analog outputs or AES/EBU outputs. Channel assignments are selected from the front-panel LCD, allowing one interface to support microphone connections, amplifier feeds, digital signal paths or a combination tailored to the system. This flexible architecture makes the RUio16FLX-D particularly useful for expanding Yamaha DME systems while complementing RPio and Rio stage boxes, immersive audio processors and other components within Yamaha’s Dante-enabled mixing ecosystem.

Flexible Channel Pairs Support Analog and AES/EBU Routing

Rather than dedicating all 16 channels to one connection type, the RUio16FLX-D divides them into two-channel pairs that can be configured independently. System designers can assign each pair as analog inputs, analog outputs or AES/EBU outputs directly from the LCD. This approach allows the interface to accommodate multiple connection requirements within a single rack space, including microphone sources, amplifier feeds and digital outputs. It also gives installed and live systems room to adapt when routing requirements change, without requiring separate interfaces for each signal format.

Dante Performance Supports Professional Audio Distribution

The RUio16FLX-D supports 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz and 96kHz sampling frequencies for integration across a range of digital audio environments. Under specified Dante conditions with a Yamaha DM5 and Dante Receive Latency set to 0.25ms, signal delay measures less than 1.7ms at 96kHz and less than 2ms at 48kHz. Support for multiple pull-up and pull-down rates provides additional clocking flexibility for professional systems that must accommodate different digital-audio and production requirements.

Compact Rackmount Design Supports Streamlined Installation

Measuring 18.9" wide by 1.7" high by 14.5" deep and weighing 8.8 lb., the RUio16FLX-D concentrates its flexible connectivity into a compact rackmount chassis. The included 16 3-pin Euroblock plugs, cable ties and power cord provide the essential hardware for system installation, while universal 100–240V operation supports deployment across different venues and facilities. For expanding Yamaha DME systems or building adaptable Dante networks, the Yamaha RUio16FLX-D provides configurable analog and digital I/O in a space-efficient format.
