DM5 Series Feature Vlog: The Intuitive User Interface

Description

The Yamaha RUio0804-D is a rackmount 8-in/4-out Dante audio interface designed to add analog connectivity to live and installed audio systems. Its eight analog inputs and four analog outputs provide supplemental I/O for medium-to-large systems using Yamaha RPio or Rio units as their primary interfaces. The RUio0804-D can accommodate additional sources and output feeds or serve as a dedicated talkback input, providing a focused alternative to adding a larger primary I/O device. Support for sampling frequencies up to 96kHz and low-latency Dante operation enables integration into high-resolution networked audio environments. As part of Yamaha’s RUio utility I/O family, the interface expands system flexibility while complementing the company’s mixers, stage boxes and immersive audio processors.

Eight Analog Inputs and Four Outputs Extend System Capacity

The RUio0804-D provides eight analog inputs and four analog outputs for systems that require additional connectivity beyond their primary I/O hardware. Its focused configuration can support supplemental source connections, additional output routing or a dedicated talkback input within live, event and installed environments. Yamaha also positions the interface as offering improved sound quality over previous Ri8-D and Ro8-D models. This combination makes the RUio0804-D a practical expansion option for larger systems built around Yamaha RPio or Rio units.

Dante Audio Supports High-Resolution Networked Workflows

The RUio0804-D supports 44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz and 96kHz sampling frequencies for compatibility with a range of Dante-based systems. Under specified conditions with a Yamaha DM5 and Dante Receive Latency set to 0.25ms, signal delay measures less than 1.7ms at 96kHz and less than 2ms at 48kHz. Support for multiple pull-up and pull-down rates provides additional clocking flexibility for professional audio and production environments.

Rackmount Design Supports Streamlined System Expansion

Measuring 18.9" wide by 1.7" high by 14.5" deep and weighing 8.15 lb., the RUio0804-D packages its Dante and analog connectivity into a compact 1U rackmount chassis. Universal 100–240V operation supports deployment across different venues and facilities, while the streamlined format integrates into existing equipment racks without occupying unnecessary space. For adding analog connections, dedicated talkback or supplemental system capacity, the Yamaha RUio0804-D provides focused Dante audio-interface expansion for live and installed systems.
