Epiphone

Description

Jerry wanted something that felt like it had already lived a few lives before it ever hit a stage with him. This guitar—people call it the “Wino”—isn’t about perfection. It’s about scars, attitude, and that slightly dangerous edge where things can fall apart… but don’t. It’s built on a Les Paul Custom foundation, because that shape just works. It’s heavy in all the right ways—tone, feel, presence. When you strap it on, it doesn’t disappear. It pushes back a little. I like that. Makes you earn what you get out of it. Under the hood, "Wino" Les Paul Custom packs a pair of Epiphone's revered humbucking pickups—an Alnico Classic PRO in the neck and a hot 98T PRO in the bridge—for a range of tones from rich and rounded to aggressive. The Alnico Classic PRO's vintage-style coils and alnico magnets provide warm, balanced tone with enhanced definition. The higher-output 98T PRO, with its exposed coils, delivers tight lows, detailed mids and crunchy highs perfect for metal and hard rock. It’s all about clarity with weight. The pickups are tuned to keep things tight when you dig in, but still let those darker harmonics breathe. Something that can handle heavy riffs but still carry melody and emotion without getting lost. The neck’s comfortable, broken-in feeling. Not too flashy, just solid. You don’t think about it—you just play. And that’s the whole point. A guitar shouldn’t get in your way when you’re trying to say something real. At the end of the day, this thing is about honesty. No frills, no pretending. Plug it in, turn it up, and it’ll give you exactly what you put into it—maybe a little more if you’re lucky.
