The Taye GoKit Birch/Basswood Drums was conceived with the musician in mind. With a compact design, this Taye GoKit Tom is ideal for small studios or drummers on the run. GoKit's 8-ply, 7mm shells are constructed from both birch and basswood giving you the brights of birch, and due to the inherent properties of basswood, the lows associated with mahogany. However, don't let the sizes fool you. A shallow drum does not reduce the tonal response of the instrument - it results in a fat yet controllable sound, making it an ideal solution for smaller venues.

Among other innovations, Taye EFS (Engineered For Sound) utilizes cross-lamination in the shell formation process. Cross-lamination is the method of perpendicularly alternating the direction of the wood grain within the plies, providing drums with extremely rigid shells, resulting in breathtakingly broad tuning ranges. To ensure peak resonsance and near infinite adjustment options, the mounted toms are equipped with Suspension Rings and the patented SlideTrack mounts so the drums can meet any sonic needs.

To top this drum off, Taye applied 2.3mm counterhoops to help separate them from the rest of the pack.
