This guitar is a great instrument, and I have been enjoying it quite a bit. The construction is solid, and is about as light as a Custom Shop, which is very nice. I do experience minor fret buzz on the low E and A strings, but adjusting the action should remedy that. I would recommend using this with a nicer-end amp, as well. I used it with both a lower-end, smaller amp, and the sound was just OK. But with a higher-end, larger amp the sound was awesome. Nevertheless, anyone will still be happy with this guitar.

I use the Squier Affinity Stratocaster to play various different genres of music, from rock to thrash metal. If you're looking for a versatile guitar that'll let you get away with almost anything, then this guitar fits the bill. I experience minor fret buzz on the G string on the first fret, but that's all and it's surely due to not being set up since i've owned it, I live in a particularly humid place so that's definitely a factor. It's got good tone, it feels nice in the hands and will accommodate if you play with your thumb over the neck. 5 way selector switch present in any strat you can get your hands on provides good versatility, offering a wide range of different sounds to find the right one for you. Adaptable and very easy to play, overall I have no cons that aren't my fault as an owner. (Not setting up) Stock tuning keys work just fine, the selector switch feels par for the course. Tone and volume knobs all feel as they should, they're not too loose or too tight. Would I buy it again? Yes, I would. I would buy many more. Would I give it to a beginning guitarist? Yes, I would. It's great quality for the value, and the price is just enough that there's a chance they'll be accountable for it and will stick with it instead of trashing it after losing interest, say with a Bullet. The verdict on this guitar is; You should definitely pick one up. Even if you're a pro player and just want something to jam and mess around with, or maybe gift to your child to have them learn the instrument, even just for parts, modding, and repair. If I had to choose between this and any other guitar in my arsenal, I'd take my race green baby.

I like that I can control the volume from the guitar and not have to go to the amp like with my other guitar

would a fender pre-wired pickguard work in this with no modification to either?

Is it easy to replace the pickups and some of the other things like the volume knob and the pick guard.

    Open Reply - Ronald
It's a lot easier to change them than it is on other guitars such as the Les Paul or SG. You take the pickguard off and it's a lot more space to work with.
