I played fender, modulus, ibanez & ernyball, all borrowed from friends of mine… primarily im guitar and keyboards player. I decided to give a shot to the bass and im very happy to choose the swamp ash p7… there is nothing missing… It came with a very nice setup, no fret buzz, low action, perfect fretwork, good looking finish…

I was a bit wary about the claims that this was playable out of the box, until I opened the box. The setup was exactly the way it would be done had I taken it to my local music shop for a once over. The owner of that shop was amazed at the price and the sound at our first in-person practice in over a year. I'm still learning the settings, but wanted something that was more than just a P-bass. I have another 5 string, but it weighs at least 2 or more times this instrument. The tuning holds well, even for the B string. This is exactly how Marcus Miller described it in a youtube review I saw. The QC on this spot on to say the least. At the price, a fantastic starter where keeping it in tune will not be an issue, so there won't be any disappointment dissuade further playing.

  • Can't beat the value!

Just picked this bass up and I love it. Only a few hours on it, but I think it's a great value for the price tag and a solid instrument.

How Much does this bass weigh? I am looking for something 9 pounds or less.

    Open Reply - Thomas
All basses vary depending on the density of the wood. Even the same model can vary up to 1.5 lbs Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Bass Guitars are generally between 8.00 and 10.00 lbs. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will be approximately 8 - 9 lbs. 9 lbs is pretty heavy.
