I Love Mine!

Been playing guitar since 1977 and most of that period was spent playing acoustics. I've had my fair share of guitars through the years. I had an Ibanez Concord with mother of pearl in-lay in 1982 that I loved. Recently, I found myself in dire need of a decent, cheap acoustic since I'm low on funds and this economy isn't helping. So my daughters and grandson bought me a Guitar Center Gift card and I thought I would try the blue V70CE. Got it 4 days later in a box within a box. Guitar was in great shape and looks beautiful. I tuned it up and it tunes nice. Got to playing it right away and was extremely happy. Two small qualms. One is the action is a hair high, which is a little tough coming from a strat to a heavier stringed acoustic, but I've already adjusted and I'm not noticing too much of a problem any more. The 2nd thing is the strap buttons are a little too low profile which makes it hard to get beefier straps to go on all the way. But, I'm going to either buy taller ones or find a thin strap that will work. No biggie for me. So, the real skinny is, I love the sound both acoustically and electronically. It has a real nice deep tone that my Brother's $600.00 Takamine doesn't have. The structural integrity of the guitar seems solid, thus the deeper tones. I'm impressed by this non-pricey Ibanez. I don't know about some of the reviews I've read about string buzz and dead sound. But those are always classic cases of any acoustic that has old strings or has been abused in some way. I am a big believer in keeping an instrument in a hardshell case, out of harms way, like say, someone cleaning a room and knocking it over thus cracking the neck. I've actually knocked an old Hohner over and cracked the neck myself. I've also pounded and banged on guitars playing them too hard until the intonation, action and acoustics were beat, and I finally figured out how to take care of them. So, let's not be too hasty in blaming the manufacturer or the store for something that we may have done to our own instrument. Just sayin'! I Love Mine!!!!
