Peavey 32FX 32-Channel Mixer With Effects

I help run sound at my church and we needed a new mixer. We gathered everyone's opinion and decided to stay with a Mackie (which was our previous board). For some reason, when the time came to purchase the mixer, he/she bought this Peavey board. I was away and was not aware of the purchase until a week later. The board worked fine for a few months, but then problems began to arise. First, the knobs were always difficult to turn because they all stuck. Then every week was a struggle for the monitor mixes. The mixes took about 30-40 minutes each week because of an issue (Internal) with the board (Could not be found, even with the help of Peavey). Also, the board would stop sending the mixes to the mains, therefore those listening would not hear anything but the stage volume. This board is absolutely terrible and we are looking to get rid of this right away. I have also seen other Peavey products before and they never last. Please, if you have the money and time, look into another board. Peavey boards are not meant to last long, nor do they make it easy to control their boards. Bottom line, do the research before making the purchase and avoid Peavey boards at all costs!

Overall I really like the mixer, good effects and lots of options. Also, the mixer seems well built and appears to be durable. Two compaints which remain consistant with most of what I read prior to my purchse: First, not enough CPU processing ability, dont try to do record, run effects on two channels and use the output processing effects; this board will lock-up. No firmware updates deal with this either, I checked with Peavy personally, and my system is up-to-date. Second, the USB thumbdrive is very picky about what it will read. It must be no larger than a 2gb drive and it must be a sandisk or it wont read it (im sure there are others but I have purchased several and so far sandisk is the only one that has worked. Finally, the recording quality is...ok. Its not a downfall but its nothing to write home and tell mommy about (mp3 quality).

I have had a older peavy 6 channel mixer. It just wasnt big enough for a 5 peace band. So went to a store to buy a mixer. Was talked into buying a samson powered mixer. It sounded and worked great but then once again the band grew bigger needed more mic imputs. So time to shop again. Since my power amps were peavy thought I would look at a peavy mixer. Kinda leary at first then was talking to a guy that new his stuff. I just couldnt afford a high dollar mixer that he was trying to sell me. So he showed me the 32fx peavy. And I liked the features and the price. so I bought it. Then had a reahersel at first it wasa little hard to understand because the manual is not that great, but i have a frend that knows a lot more than i about sound. He played with it got it working good the second he help me work the bugs out MAN was i impresed. This mixer smoked my old powered samson. We did a new years gig in a big room last night and mic up all the drums and guitars what a great sound so clean and solid. I would recomend this to any weekend gig going band. GREAT MIXER.
