Description

The TAMA Imperialstar drum series is known as an industry standard for beginning drummers who want a high-quality drum set experience at an excellent value, and this 8-piece model goes the extra mile to deliver on that promise. By adding an additional bass drum, floor tom and rack tom to the popular 5-piece Imperialstar model, this kit gives players extra options in every direction to make room for thundering fills and complex, relentless beats. Although large kits like this one are most famous for their use among metal and hard rock drummers, the wider variety of sounds can help bring flair to any genre.

High-end Features at an Entry-level Price

Sound and durability go hand in hand, and Imperialstar delivers on both accounts by incorporating features from TAMA's higher-end Superstar and Starclassic lines. 100% poplar 6-ply, 8 mm shells achieve full, deep sounds using TAMA’s precision bearing edges for efficient sound transfer from drum head to shell. The wrap finishes are fully adhered to the poplar using a gluing process (not double-sided tape) to produce a strong bond that allows the wood and wrap to fully resonate as one. Low-mass lugs further enable toms and floor toms to reach their full, rich tones. 

Good cymbals are essential to the acoustic drum set experience, so TAMA has collaborated with MEINL to include their name-brand HCS cymbals in this complete kit. The 14" hi-hats, 16" and 18" crashes, and 20" ride produce clean sonic separation and are highly durable to allow full dynamic exploration.

Rugged Hardware You Can Depend On

TAMA has a glowing reputation for making the highest-grade hardware in the industry. Imperialstar drum sets offer super sturdy and highly adjustable ball/socket 10.5 mm double tom holders with memory locks, a height-adjustable padded throne and double-braced, three-tiered cymbal stands that combine stability with full height adjustment and positioning. The dual kick pedals feature an underside rock plate for stability, along with independent tension and beater-angle adjustments to allow drummers to find their desired bass drum feel. The double-braced hi-hat stand assures stability and includes a secure-grip clutch.

In addition to this 8-piece Imperialstar model with MEINL cymbals, TAMA also offers multiple 5-piece and 6-piece configurations (sold separately) and bass drum sizes (sold separately) to fit your exact needs. Add-on drums are also available in a variety of sizes and wrap finishes (sold separately).

    Very good sounding kit, the cymbals are nice and the drum-heads sound good. if you play metal i would recommend changing the snare head and the toms heads for a better sound but we and my band love it. i have the kit for about 3 months already and im very happy with it.
