This package includes the BLX4 receiver and the BLX handheld transmitter with a PG58 mic capsule. The BLX transmitter features a popular mic capsule, a rugged and reliable ABS polymer chassis and frame, a 10dB pad, an On/Off ergonomic push-button switch, and a single bi-color LED battery indicator. The BLX4 is a half-rack sized wireless receiver built into a rugged, polymer ABS chassis. It features advanced capabilities usually unavailable in wireless systems in this price range. The PG58 capsule is a popular mid-priced cardioid dynamic microphone capsule.

Good Sounds From A PG58???

I bought this mic to use for a DJ Gig and figured it was cheap but it'll be good enough... Since that gig, I started using it as my main vocal mic at my church and in my band, it's extremely clear and gives a great sound! For a 300 dollar microphone, this is all I wanted and MORE!!! As for the wireless, with a TON of selectable channels, you're always going to be connected and I haven't had ANY dropouts. I've only had this mic for a week now, but it's gotten probably 10 hours of use and I'm still on the first set of batteries... If you're on a budget and need a good wireless mic, THIS IS THE ONE FOR YOU!!! Look no further than Shure.

A good starter mic but limited features

I had a large event coming up and needed an additional mic to run for one of the visiting performers. My local Guitar center did not have a large selection of wireless mics and the price seemed to be a good deal. When opening the box you are greeted by the SHURE name practically everywhere. the excitement builds as you tear open the packaging. (some of us are that way lol) Then I get to the goods. the mic is lightweight...like scary lightweight. I can tell from the getgo that this setup is all plastic minus the windscreen/ No way would this survive any normal drops. The receiver is equally light and felt like it wouldnt be stable. I also didn't see anywhere to attach a rackmount either unless you rigged it with double sided tape. Honestly after looking it over and not seeing an antenna my expectations dropped quickly about this package. I get past that initial fear and hook up the mic to check out the sound. I have experiences with both SM58's and PGA58's and there isn't a world of difference in real world applications. You would expect the wireless mics to resemble that right? I honestly felt like this mic has a wet blanket over the top of it. Several eq changes later I got it semi under control but still felt dry and boomy. I plugged up a PG58 and had to do far less Equing. I ended up not even using the mic for the show because I was worried about the singer standing out in a mix or being down a mic after it got dropped. I ended up returning the mic and ordered the BLX24R/SM58. You get alot more for your money with that setup including a rackmountable all metal receiver WITH removable antennas, and a SM58 version of the mic that feels heftier and not as cheap and lightweight. It feels like you are getting a higher level unit overall. being rackmountable is a big plus! In my opinion you should def skip the BLX24/SMpg58 and reach deeper into the wallet for another 100. You will honestly feel alot better about your purchase!~

    #sweepstakes I'm in an all female rock band and I do a lot of interaction with audiences. This Mic has been wonderful and so far I've had no problems with it. Definitely would recommend this Mic for those to one of reliable wireless, but don't wanna have to spend a fortune. #sweepstakes

    I used it on two outdoor events and there was a cut out every time. The talent using the wireless mic couldn't not move 10 yards away without the mic cutting out. No problems with the wireless mic indoors.

    Avoid this product at all cost. The gains are terrible & you can barely hear anything coming out of the speakers unless you have a mixer with the volume up to the max.

    Really happy with the diversity of channels listing offers. Being in the music industry, I know that each company has specific channels that are separated from radio, and all the other channels events that the venues have so great learning curve and instruction on how to avoid distortion or thinking doesn't work properly. For the price it's really great and I don't know this company is a long lasting.

    is there a way to tell when the mic is about to run out of battery?

    There's a green light on the transmitter that goes to orange when it's low, and then Red right before it dies.

    How is it with feed back if your to close to a speaker? And does it come with a warranty if so how many months?

    It's about as bad with feedback as a standard mic. So there may be feedback but it's easily dealt with. The warranty is 1 year.

    These are the same. The different channels operate on separate frequencies, so if you're using multiple units, they don't interfere with each other.

    There is only one receiver for one mic which acts as a transmitter. So you would need a whole new system to run a second microphone.
