Best bass I've ever purchased.

I've been using this bass for everything since I opened the box. I have an ibanez SR700 with Bartollini's and this thing blows it out of the water. Don't get me wrong, the ibanez sounds great, but this bass is incredible. Tone is amazing and you get fantastic control out of the active emgs. I played the stilleto years ago and hated it. B string was super buzzy and had an awful sound. This newer version is amazing. The cleanest low b string I've ever played. String spacing is fantastic as well, not too close, so slapping is a breeze. Can't wait to gig it.

Good, not great

I was really digging this bass when I first picked it out. An affordable neck through with EMGs, right? I held on to this bass for nearly a month before finally turning it back in, and this is why… I noticed the Low E would get distorted when playing in the lower register (5th fret and below) so I tuned back up from DGCA to EADG, still fuzzy so I keep trouble shooting only to observe that the cheap plastic nut the manufacturer provided saddles the string way too low along the fret board. I decided that I would head back to GC and try something else or get them to fix it. Sure enough they have a whole line up of new Schector basses that I start playing, and each one has the same issue, some of them worse than mine! I returned it and bought another neck through with a brass nut instead. I'm not sure if it's the manufacturer or the folks at GC who are setting them up, but either way the plastic nut will be a standard no-go for me in the future.

    I fell in Love with the looks of this Bass, had it in my wishlist for over a month, it went on sale for Labor Day and I ordered it. Straight out of the box it's perfect. The tones great, playability is perfect and fast, electronics are solid and variable. I loved it so much that I bought its little brother, studio Stealth in a 4 string, it is also phenomenal in all aspects. Schecter has a loyal customer now. #sweepstakes!!

    I absolutely LOVE this bass, the tones are awesome, the clarity is even better. Lows,Mids,Highs are spot on. Build quality is excellent as far as Looks…. It is Phenomenal. I have 5 other basses which I love as well but this one is a step above. Schecter nailed it with this one!!

    Bought this as my first bass and instantly fell in love. The craftsmanship is the best i've experienced on a 5 string. The tuning and intonation is also remarkable even fresh out of the box. This bass can do it all with the 3 way tone melting pot, you can cover Jazz Fusion to death metal

    This bass speaks for itself!!! The bass maintains a rock sturdy setup, that wont budge, alongside perfect tonality. Not only is it extremely alluring, it is a dream to play, with its soft neck contouring into its body as a whole unit, Her low B string rips hard, utilizing EMG pickups, holding a brilliant sustain. 10 out of 10. I enjoyed the 4 string model as well & honestly would even consider purchasing the 4 string down the road for other purposes. Thank you Schecter Guitar Research.

    Bought this bass online, it's beautiful but I have no idea how it plays because it arrived with the action so low the strings are rubbing the frets without any pressure on them. First purchase from GC, though the shipping speed was fast not at all impressed with the lack of set up

    Are the pickups EMG HZ pickups like the other Schecter Stiletto Studio 5 basses, or are these EMG 40DCX pickups which would be unique among the other colors of Schecter Stiletto Studio 5 basses?

    Yes, they they are. The EMG HZ is famous. I have a Spector with HZ's.
