We currently do 2 reggae tunes in our set. I wanted that reggae sound and feel, but wanted something compact and inexpensive that sounded convincing. This mini timbale definitely does the trick! Just added a mount to my cymbal stand and good to go. Great sound, especially for the price

This is a cool little drum. It's a great value for the price. The only problem is it's not really like a timbale as far as sound. It's more like a small add on drum. It's pretty well made and nice looking. If you need a very authentic timbale sound I'd say skip this and buy the real thing. If you need a new sound to inspire you added into your kit, you'll like it.

Adds a nice little flare and unique sound to drumset. Fit on my Mapex Tom holder which worked nice, and was what I aimed for.

I play in a reggae band, and really wanted that classic sound. Mounted this to my hi hat stand with simple L-type clamp mount, at the same height as my snare. Overall, it does the job quite well. It doesn't have the depth and resonance as a full size timbale, but cannot be beat for the $. The mount on the side of it is a little bit flimsy, but the overall construction is good. I would also note that I like it's size. A full size timbale used in the same location with a drum set can be a bit much. If you have the money to spend on a regular size one I'd say go for that instead, and mount it on a stand in place of a second floor tom. If you dont want to spend the extra cash, buy this. Keep in mind that it does not come with a mounting bracket. I paid about $20 for one.

  • Great little addition

My band plays quite a few reggae covers and this drum is perfect if you're stuck behind a set. I mount it off a clamp attached to a cymbal stand just in front/above my snare and just left of the smallest tom. Size wise it fits in great and has a bright poppy sound. I would give it five stars but there are higher quality, better sounding timbales out there although I haven't seen any that are this versatile. You can't beat the price. It's probably the best bang for the buck of any percussion instrument I own. Pardon the pun.
