Description

The elusive vintage MXR Phase 90 guitar pedal is at the top of the list for pedal collectors worldwide. The original version—available from the company's inception to the late 70's—practically defined the classic phase shifter sound, and was heard on everything from hard rock to jazz fusion and funk hits.

Great deal!

Anyone looking for a no nonsense cost efficient phaser will love this pedal. The script offers a warmer vintage-y tone and runs very mellow. All you got is a speed knob so it can't get any easier. Some might be put off by the fact that this pedal is not true bypass. It also has a small footprint that will make fitting it onto your board very easy. Just don't forget the patch cables...

It's Alright

After using the standard block version for several years, I decided to give the script version a spin. It does the thing, and it does it well, but it just doesn't have the same mojo as the block version, in my opinion. The main differences are that the script version does not boost your signal, like the block version does, and the script version has a much shallower phase than the block version, making it much mellower of a sound. All in all, there isn't anything wrong with the script version, but I really like the boost that the block version gives me, as I tend to use it for lead lines, and it helps me to stand out a bit more. Along with that, the more drastic phasing sounds that you get from the block version were more my taste, so it's all just personal preference.

    The color and script font looks great and is unique. Has an amazing classic subtle sound and can pair with many other pedals. Knob is easy to turn as well.

    Great phase pedal, the 90 has a very good sound. I also have the 101 that has served me well and worked flawlessly for several years. Favor the MXR sound. Depend on pedals for sound. Have previously owned chours, flanger, wah just to name a few. Look forward to eventually getting the Van Halen pedal line.

    I've been using block logo Phase 90s for years. I was always disappointed that they caused some non-musical distortion with higher output pickups, and ended up selling them. I read somewhere that users with the same problem did not have the issue with the Script Phase 90, so I gave it a shot. Well, not only is the distortion gone, but the sweep is far more lush and pleasing. Complete win. I highly recommend this phaser over the block logo as well as most of the other phasers out there.

    I was looking for that phasing you hear in Bad Company,Peter Frampton,Rush,etc. This pedal is it. I run it with a 2010 Gibson LP Studio and a 50watt Marshall Vintage Modern half stack. Very warm tone.

    The tone of any MXR phaser has impressed me no matter what model, I like it better that the mxr univibe because it retains the high end response.
