Incredible amp! This amp is so versatile, and sounds so incredible you wont ever wish you bought something different. The circuit switching is genius; no more overdrive or distortion pedals needed, except maybe Fuzz. It is insanely powerful, nice to be able to dial down the wattage to 10w. Ive had mine for 10 years now, and I aint ever selling this baby unless I have to to survive.

This review is more of Guitar Center than the product itself. The amp is great and would have kept it if not for the lengthy repair turnaround. Having said that, beware of open box items. I returned the faulty amp and they put it online on sale the same day!!! I bet it hasn't been repaired since the store said they don't have amp techs and not enough staff to check the tubes. The amp got delivered without cables, faulty/broken tube. The sound wasn't loud enough even when I had both gain and master volume all the way up. I even hooked up a headphone (awesome feature btw!) and volume was minimal. Mesa Boogie offered to repair it but did mention that what GC tells their customers about the warranty on floor items is misleading. I decided to return the amp because I couldn't risk sending the amp to Mesa and then either getting it damaged during shipment or not being able to return outside the 45 days window. The gear rep never returned my email or phone call after the sale was completed when I inquired about the issue. Another reason I returned the amp. The amp is obviously awesome and I would have really wanted to keep it. GC will be my last option. Heard a lot of great things about Sweetwater so that might be where I will go next.

Purchased demo from Guitar Center 431 Taylorsville Utah. No original box and missing footswitch cable. Packaged extremely poorly with cosmetic damage to amp tolex and cabinet. No surprise based on how beat up the box was!

What a GREAT amp! Unfortunately, Guitar Center shipped in a dusty, used, amp. Not in the original packaging, and missing the cable to the foot switch. Their response, when I called them and told them it was dusty and used... "just return it, and then order another; you have 45 days.

I don't know how to update the three star review I left earlier or I would've. The other amp's reverb didn't work and I figured out why on the replacement amp. The fan didn't appear to work and I believe a pre amp tube was faulty because of overheating. The new amp is perfect so I can say now that I'm very happy with it. I've plugged in my Stratocaster and the cleans are bright and the clean channel brings out the single coils like I've never heard before on my old amp, a modeling VOX. I plugged in my Ibanez jhm and on the dirty channel I get very accessible harmonics of all kinds. Same with my Les Paul but with it I get a refined dirty. I was worried about needing pedals for overdrive but completely unnecessary. The amp is difficult to dial back as the master volume is very touchy. Thankfully there are three watts and two impedance speaker choices to help in not scaring the wife or cat with my sloppy playing. I wish I could take back the three star or update it. I should've waited for the replacement amp first. But I was annoyed and in my defense it seems to be a problem (reverb not working) with this model. The good ones are a bargain for the price.
