HX-Quality Modeling for Authentic Tone

Thanks to HX modeling, the sounds and feel you get from the POD Express Bass are indistinguishable from the real thing. Seven amp models provide tones from classic to modern, with seven cabinet models to match. The POD Express Bass has all the connections you need for practice, recording and performance. Stereo outputs provide a full, rich signal to amplifiers, mixing consoles and recording interfaces. A headphone output is ideal for private practice anywhere. The built-in USB-C audio interface allows high-definition recording and reamping in your digital audio workstation. You can also connect an optional expression pedal (sold separately) for foot control of volume or two external footswitches to select presets or turn effects on/off.

The absolutely perfect first bass pedal.

Ignore all of the effects for now. This thing has a Tuner, Loop Pedal, EQ, USB port for recording to your PC and making presets, 2 lines out, and a headphone jack so that you can practice with it silently, and best of all it runs on DC power of three AA batteries if you want to go mobile with it. Now the effects - Helix basically took a variety of their best effects and amp models and gave you 4 awesome distortion sounds, 4 funky weird Synth sounds, 4 compressors AND a chorus, phaser, flanger and delay. And 7 models of some of the most iconic bass amps ever made. Yes, it's plastic, but I've already dropped it on my hardwood floor twice with no damage. At the price it's an absolute steal for what you are getting. It's so much fun and the different sounds inspire me to play more and try new things. I'm a fan.

Software not ready Android o/s

Out of the box was easy to get started with convenient headphone jack to dial in cool tones and effects. Annoying flashing led, no display,too difficult to program with out interface to a computer. Android app wouldn't connect after ALOT of wasted time trying to resolve. Exchanged for a Boss GT1-B, which is well worth it for all the extras at a slightly more cost IMHO.

    The quality of effects is fantastic. It's has better quality then my MXR phaser and high end compressor/limiters. Used with a Mark Bass amplifier and it created solid sounds and sustain. Great unit for a great price !

    This pedal has a lot of features, including lots of effects, stereo outs, and a headphone out. However, the enclosure is made of plastic that feels cheap in the hand. I don't know that I'd take this out to a gig; I'd be worried about it getting damaged. Also, the instructions make reference to an owner's manual that was not shipped with the unit, even though it came with several little booklets and sheets of paper.

    Great pedal. I've put away my stand alone compressor, flanger and distortion boxes. Makes my small Trace Elliot Elf keep up with loud Bogner guitarist amp and is so light to carry. Great buy, and very dependable.

What it is: A multi-effects processor specifically designed for bass guitar. It includes amp modeling, cabinet simulation, and effects like compression, drive, modulation, delay, and reverb. It’s built for convenience and portability, offering several core bass tones and effects in one compact unit. What it is not: It is not a dedicated preamp pedal (like an Aguilar Tone Hammer or SansAmp Bass Driver DI), although the amp/cab sims can function similarly in a signal chain. It is also not a dedicated clean boost pedal, though some patches or effects within it may increase gain/output.

    These are nice: Ernie Ball Limited-Edition VPJR Roadrunner Tuner and Volume Pedal Blue, Ernie Ball 6165 Stereo Volume/Pan Pedal, Morley 20/20 Power Wah Volume Effects Pedal. We have many others.
