Description

George Benson's tasteful tone, phrasing and incomparable sense of swing has ensured his place in the history of jazz guitar. Ibanez is extremely proud of their long and fruitful relationship, now celebrating over 30 years of collaboration. The LGB30 George Benson Signature hollowbody electric guitar is crafted from specially selected tonewoods, bone nut, ebony fingerboard, hand-rolled frets and Ibanez's famous Super 58 pickups. A hardshell case is included.

      I bought this strictly for jazz, like smooth jazz style, but the guitar sounds and feels great for fusion/rock. Great distorted sound, but the big full jazz sound of the hollow body is what I get remarks on a lot. Our last concert I had people approach me afterwards and asked how I get such a big full sound. I told them its all this guitar. I don't add effects with it at all. Its feels great. You'll notice that the moment you pick it up. The balance is perfect when you have a strap on, it plays super fast and clean. If you only want one guitar, this is it. Very versatile. Blues, rock to contemporary jazz to traditional jazz.

      I put 14 gauge GB flatwounds on it. Plays even better. It's loud acoustically as well. Also the rep gave me a great price.

      I owned a George Benson guitar back in the 80's and sold it and have kicked myself ever since. I bought the LGB 30 recently and was amazed how the quality was as great as my Japanese 80's model, now the parts are definitely cheaper but workmanship was amazing especially for the price. If you're looking for an affordable jazz box that'll looks, feels and sounds like a guitar twice it's price, then look no further. I will hang onto this one forever and love playing it! That's was any guitar should be a any price. I'd definitely add this to your collection.

      First full hollowbody guitar. I also own a John Scofield semi-hollow. This guitar not only looks really great, very good finish and attention to detail and a beautiful flame maple finish, but it plays really well as well. The neck on this one is a bit thinner than the Scofield and I actually like it better. Very nice pickups as well. My only hesitation on this is the tailpiece which I am not fond of, it makes stringing difficult. All in all a very nice instrument at a very nice price.

      I wanted a jazz box, and a $2000+ Gibson was out of the question. This is just as nice for less that half the price!

      This is the sound I was looking for. I have a Gibson 335, and Ibanez AS200, and a Gibson 339. This guitar is the Jazz sound you are looking for. I am very picky and it played great out of the box. This jazz box seems like a guitar 3 times the price. Great guitar!

      Perhaps someone could provide some info or opinion on the following: I presently own a LGB 30. Great sound and easy to play. However over the past few months I am finding the neck a little to small . Also I don't consider my hands to be that big. I am presently interested in the AG 95 and AF 95 Expressionist. Question: Anyone familiar with the neck on the AG 95 vs AF 95. I realize the AG 95 is a smaller body. Only interested in the neck size. Don't want to repeat or have same neck as in LGB30 which I fell is a little small. Also does a 20 or 22 fret guitar play a part in determining the size of neck. Thanks

      Can string type and bridge type be specified on the order? Regarding Ibanez LGB30 guitar.
