Very good product

I bought these sticks, althought they are a little thicker than the normal stick they are very great, i would recommend these sticks to anyone. Theyre thicker, more durable, but have a very good feel to them.

They BREAK a lot! One stick per song.

When you get two bricks of these sticks, and you start off playing a Tom Petty song, and you break one, you think "Oh darn, that must've been a bad one". And then song after song they are breaking over and over. That's when you realize you've invested in fragile sticks. I wrote to Vater, and the President of Vater wrote back "The GoodWood Sticks are our second quality Sticks and do not come with any guarantee". I will say they FEEL like normal 7A sticks that I've bought from every vendor. I've successfully used other generics like Sound Persussion 7A sticks that don't have this problem. But these GoodWoods are breaking at a crazy fast pace compared to ANY other brand.

    These have been my go to sticks for years, but over the last year or two, at least half the pack is warped. I don't mind blemishes and knots and they used to be the best value out there, but it unfortunately has become more cost effective to get the Vater version instead.

    I bought these because they had a decent sale price. I get they're the Vater cheapies. They feel ok, somewhat larger than the SP's I use. I prefer the SP's as they feel more balanced as well.

    I am by no means a heavy hitter but I grew up playing rock music so I can get loud when it's necessary. That being said I rarely break sticks. I've got sticks I wish would break so I can get rid of them! I've broken a couple of these already with very little time on them. I really like these sticks the feel the length the weight. All good except the tapper at the tip is too thin and so they break. Oh well I'll use them till there's only one left and order something else... probably.

  • 2B wood tips are great, nylon tips...not so much.

    I love the wood tips. They are very durable. I liked them so much I decided to try nylon tips...Big mistake. I play hard rock and metal so I am a hard hitter at times. With the wood tips I can get through several four hour sessions without breaking a stick. (Awesome!) The nylon tips, in MY experience, break at a rate of at least one per session, sometimes immediately.(Ugh!) This is my experience, I use 2Bs and am a hard hitter. I hope this helps.
