Great sounding pedal with a wide range of effects. Doesn't take too much real estate on pedal board.

I play in a Rush cover band and was looking for that right sound. Genuine early analog delay sound. This product really delivers for that special sound and genre. Looking forward to purchasing the Electric Mistress.

Although I wasn't lying when I said that in terms of features and sound this pedal is very good for the money, I now (6 months later) have to say that Electro-Harmonix has very disappointing quality control for a company of its reputation. My first Memory Boy's overly-expressive modulation circuit got stuck after 6 months of very light use and could no longer be turned down far enough to be bearable. I got a replacement, and that was no good out of the box (at full or near-full delay time, where I usually have it set, there was a horrible ring-modulator-like 2nd note sound). EH should be able to do better than this.

Very warm and trip-inducing under the right treatment. The modulation is WAY too sensitive, though; turn the depth up to about SW on the dial and it's already too much for me under most circumstances. An analog delay you can control with an expression pedal is a great idea, and this one is cheap to buy!

I think the main reason a majority of people say that the Carbon Copy is better when they test it against this is because the Memory Boy takes time to master and get great tones out of (not that it is overly difficult you just have to get to know it) while the Carbon Copy is easy to just get the delay you want quickly. But when you take time you will learn that the Memory Boy not only gets delays that are as good as the Carbon Copy and also out of the memory boy you can get some stuff that the Carbon Copy can't offer such as good sounding vibrato, chorus and reverb. You just have to get it set up right. So after testing for a while I came to this conclusion. Carbon Copy: vs Memory Boy: delay = delay self-oscilation > self oscilation quality = quality versatality < versatality options < options price < price So I chose the Memory Boy and am glad I did.
